Again, we ask the Canadian Government if ALL Canadians will have the same rights under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, no matter the country they are from or the country their parent(s) are from.
This was forwarded to me by my sister who lives in the US. She is among those who recognize that our rights as US Persons in other countries are being abused.
Human Rights: Every person on earth is supposed to have these — what are they?
This video can be watched, keeping in mind our discrimination by *USA* nationality with extra-territorial FATCA combined with citizenship-based taxation coming into our sovereign counries. The introduction to the video The Power of Rights:
There are a lot of terms we throw around, but maybe we’ve forgotten the true meanings.
…I especially appreciate what they say starting at 2:40 — just who are the people we need protecting from? And at 3:06, I feel encouraged to keep speaking up on social media (I hope you do, too). At 4:12, a quick, eye-opening story about how it feels to be denied your human rights is all the reminder we should need to keep working on these issues.
@Calgary411
good video. I sent it to the PM and the leaders of the parties and some of their MPs. and my MP
@Calgary 411
It should go to the press too.
George Soros is a big Obama supporter. So one must assume that this multi-billionaire is all for taxing US expats.
So good video, but it is marred by the presence of this crony capitalist.
@Petros
Maybe we should keep the Nazi stuff out of FATCA….Remember Nazi supporters were on both sides of the aisle.
George Soros is rumored to have funded the Occupy Movement. I have to question what are his ulterior motives?
I would encourage any and all who might be afraid to get involved and do something about this, please, watch this video and you’ll see where the true strength of people comes from. You will not be afraid anymore.
Petros,
Perhaps he should eat his words. The words of the whole video are, to me, the important aspect.
I love the video… I sent it on to the Prime Minister and the Other MPs.
Should we send it to the Press?
AS for OWS. They helped the people Not the banks

I am going to send a link of this post to ACLU’s Anthony Romero, one of those speaking on the video: https://www.aclu.org/leader/anthony-d-romero
@northernstar, not sure what you mean keep the Nazi stuff out of FATCA. … I personally don’t appreciate crony capitalists like Soros and Buffet. They are able to bend government to their will, and some believe that Obama wouldn’t be in office if it weren’t for the efforts of Soros. He does, after all, lend quite a lot of billions towards funding left-wing organizations which were instrumental in getting Obama elected. If you mean that Soros supported Obama therefore he must support Obama’s pet project FATCA, … Or perhaps your comment was intended as tongue in cheek, because we are not allowed to make any Nazi references when talking about the National Origin discrimination against alleged US expats, a practice eerily similar to what happened in Germany.
@Petros
George Soros was not even 15 years old when the war ended.
@ Brockers interesting and relevant exchanges to whether FATCA could be likened to anything Germany did in 30s and 40s….. only comment is “gut feel”….anything that identifies and targets people according to arbirtrary/beauracratic criteria is TO BE FEARED……………………………..
@northernstar, apparently a number of media sources had to apologize for this accusation. So I’ve edited my comments to remove any such suggestion.
However, Soros is still a major funder of the organizations that put Obama into power. He is still a crony capitalist. He is still using his funds to promote democrat initiatives, including FATCA, which has Democrat written all over it. He is big money, funding big progressive projects, the very projects that are stepping over the border to tax Canadians in Canada who have some flimsy relationship with the US. So I still don’t like him, and I have a hard time watching this video without noticing that it never criticizes modern Western governments, including the USA, the biggest human rights abuser, as far as Isaac Brock is concerned. So, yeah, great video, but Soros probably paid for it. And when Soros begins to destroy our rights through his puppets in the US government, our voice won’t be heard, because we don’t control the channels of communication.
And there was I, just listening to the words that I thought meant something worth thinking about, including our particular abuse of rights.
@Petros
I hate the IRS and the Treasury Dept!!
…when I should have been asking who funded this? / who benefits? just like I ask myself when reading some research studies (like those funded by big pharmaceutical companies).
Hi Petros
What is happening with the Supreme Court challenge? It sound that Blaze is only interested in a limited challenge.
Is the lack of property rights in Canada Constitution a big problem for legal case?
@northernstar, to be sure, IRS and Treasury are our persecutors. Yet we must be aware too that government is no longer being run on behalf of the people, but since the major bailouts of the banks started in 2008, government has started working ostensibly not for the benefit of the people but for the banks and their well paid staff who have placed at risk the money of other people, but have not had to suffer the consequences when their bets went bad. At present, the Federal Reserve is buying something like $40 billion per month of the banks’ toxic assets, in what is called “quantitative easing”. This essentially has made multi-billionaires even richer, and it is done at the expense of normal retired people who can’t get any decent return on their safe investments. Buffet and Soros get richer while Joe Canadian gets poorer because his money is worth nothing on deposit because of artificial interest rates (ZIRP=Zero interest rate policy). So you can be sure that I have an axe to grind when it comes to the super wealthy who become rich through the constant dilution and devaluation of our currencies. Soros is a specialist at making billions off the follies of bad central bank policy. He is the master–the very best in the world standing heads and shoulders above any rival. Yet who is he but the guy who helps the worst manipulators get into power? Since Obama came to power with the help of Soros, US monetary policy has only become worse and the annual budget deficit went up by 300%. Now a man like Soros feeds off the badly run monetary policy and gets super wealthy, while the average Joe suffers and can barely afford the cost of living.
When a country is ready to go off the edge of the cliff, there is Soros with his billions to give the final push. He’s done it more than once.

Part 4 in our series, “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Goldman-Sachs, But Were Afraid to Ask.” What do Hank Paulson, Robert Rubin, Robert Zoellick, William Dudley, Stephen Friedman, Mario Draghi, and Mark Carney have in common? Answer: they run some of the most important financial institutions in the world … and they are all alumnae of the investment bank, Goldman Sachs. Doug Henwood, author of “After the New Economy”, explains why that matters.
“The biggest difference between this election and the race in 2008 is that Wall Street is now betting bigger on Republicans. During the last cycle, 57% of individuals from Wall Street gave to Democrats and President Obama. But this year, 60% of Wall Street’s contributions went to Republicans. ”
