Liberty and justice for all United States persons abroad

  1. Long live Sophie in ‘t Veld! One should fire the whole damn corrupt EU Commission and replace it with her.

FATCA = mafia. If FATCA seeks transparency, then it must also be transparent.

  2. It is interesting that there is a single individual anywhere in the world who knows if the US will provide reciprocity.

  3. The woman behind her (concentrating on her headphones) smiled in acknowledgement as we told Sophie that reciprocity is a joke.

  4. Like how the Americans say “When the information exchange reaches ‘our standards’ then we will reciprocate.” A total bunch of horses***! That’s all I can say. That’s there way of stalling and getting more and more info on expats.

  5. Sophie is great. A little disappointing though that the collateral damage and impact on ‘US persons’ was not more discussed and explicitly mentioned. Her second comment is more about what recourse “people affected by FATCA have”, but she did not mention explicitly bank account closures, lack of investment and insurance possibilities, DISCRIMINATION, which I think is the biggest issue.

  6. I’ll now refer to the Stack comments as the “Brussels hustle”. Yes, the Animal, it is a load of horse****!
