Media and Blog Articles – Part 1 of 11 (to 26 May 2015)

EmBee suggested that it would be good if there was a thread for new articles, so that people would be aware of where to comment. So, I created this permanent page. You could mention such articles in the comment stream for this page, or if I see one on another thread, I can copy the link to here. I’ll keep adding to the list, but not deleting, so we’ll end up having sort of a “bibliography” too. [Note: Some articles are not open for comments]
For more articles on FATCA, enter FATCA into Google then click on the link “more news for fatca” just below the most recent featured article.
Note also: JC suggests to see #FATCA on Twitter for latest breaking news. JC finds that is quite a good source and there even are some international articles that one may read using Google Translate.” Others may help certain tweets and articles remain in elevated position by retweeting them.

Oh, I misunderstood. Glad this site didn’t lose your comments. Bummer the G&M isn’t posting your comments. Maybe they’re one of those sites where it takes a while because a staffer reads them before they show up online — dunno. I’m sure they’re great comments, so I hope they make it through.
Damage control for the IIAC? This new article is out today at FP:

Weird….on my outer the latest article in FP has the comments from yesterday’s murky article. They don’t fit!
A new article by Lynne/Blaze:

Good to see “Canadian Cop’s” story at Tax-News, the mainstream media having by-passed it.
New FATCA article (and hall of shame candidate) in Fortune Magazine:
Defending wealthy tax cheats is all the rage these days
The Fortune article by Chris Mathews is a hack job. There’s a link in the article to Robert Stack “Myths vs. FATCA” to support his statement that “the law applies to all foreign financial institutions regardless of whether they serve American customers.” I would challenge Chris Mathews to determine why should large banks as Axa, Banamex, Deutsche Bank and VTB, which undoubtedly have advisers who have read the Robert Stack propaganda piece and have researched the underlying law and country IGA, have found it necessary to close the bank accounts of Americans abroad.
With this poorly researched pro-FATCA article, Chris Mathews deserves to be in the IBS’ Hall of Shame.
@Watcher
Thanks for that article. It is poor in facts it is laughable. Chris Matthews is a loud speaking blowhard who I do not find factual often. I won’t bother to sign up to make a comment. I am away for next few days and will have limited internet. Maybe some of you can give this article facts. He must have written this in 3 minutes.
Re: Chris Matthews Fortune article. I just FB messaged him with a courteous message to allow me to give him some facts he missed. It does not hurt to try.

Sorry, my initial search didn’t show a previous link to that Fortune article. Darn Brock gremlins wreaking havoc on the site!

I will never understand how this insanely absurd, ridiculously mind numbing, amoral, unjustifable “thing” can even be reported on without journalists feeling ashamed.
Ashamed, Charl? I believe some take perverse pleasure in it, like watching Christians get devoured by lions.

I discovered this a few minutes ago.. Some brockers on ,, especially WhiteKat…
After reading over 500 comments I posted one too. So many will be so surprised at the Banks questions in the next few weeks. I hope this article gets the Charter Challenge some new contributors. Most are very against the Harper government signing FATCA.
Lots of Brockers are posting at this CBC news article out today(over 600 comments so far):
