EmBee suggested that it would be good if there was a thread for new articles, so that people would be aware of where to comment. So, I created this permanent page. You could mention such articles in the comment stream for this page, or if I see one on another thread, I can copy the link to here. I’ll keep adding to the list, but not deleting, so we’ll end up having sort of a “bibliography” too. [Note: Some articles are not open for comments]
For more articles on FATCA, enter FATCA into Google then click on the link “more news for fatca” just below the most recent featured article.
Note also: JC suggests to see #FATCA on Twitter for latest breaking news. JC finds that is quite a good source and there even are some international articles that one may read using Google Translate.” Others may help certain tweets and articles remain in elevated position by retweeting them.

I agree that the use of the word “exile” is completely inappropriate. There is nothing within the context it was used to indicate that the actions of the IRS has resulted in many Americans becoming exiled.
Instead, the reader might assume that the IRS is specifically targeting American exiles, when in fact they are targeting everyone whom they consider US taxpayers, including non-exiles, like Americans born abroad.

Done.
@Joe Blow – Charl wrote a wonderful comment to this Newsweek article. I hope a lot of homelanders read it and think about these issues for at least a minute or two. Great response, Charl !!!!!
Very nice comments on Lynnley Brownings hatchet job on ‘clueless expats” from honey badger, bc doc and past60beyond.
Browning is not a journalist, she’s a Dem party hack.
Is “Rob Wood” in this video, “Robert Wood”?
That’s him, WhiteKat, and that’s us, “emotional”.
Thanks for finding this one, WhiteKat.
Robert W. Wood Contributor (at Forbes)
I’m a tax lawyer based in San Francisco (www.WoodLLP.com), but I handle tax matters everywhere. I enjoy untangling a tax mess from the past, disputing taxes with the government or planning taxes for the future. One of my specialties is advising about lawsuit payments. Whether you’re receiving or paying a legal settlement, you can probably improve your tax position. I write frequently about taxes, from expatriation to sales tax, from selling your company to restitution. I’ve written over 30 tax books, but my best seller is still Taxation of Damage Awards and Settlement Payments. Contact me at wood@WoodLLP.com.
@WhiteKat
I am so very disappointed in him. I actually thought he was starting to understand and that was important as he writes much about this. Ah, but as Calgary pointed out he is in the compliance industry.
Really frosts my socks that being right, presenting valid, legally correct and moral arguments are emotional….(Insert a million four letter words here).
We have got to up the ante here. Yes I know we are chugging along with our challenge but anyone up for trying to launch a human rights/UN something. Even if it is a very steep mountain to climb I think just the process of making mention that it is happening in our comments in various places, as has happened with our challenge, makes it known to the universe we are not going silently into the night.
I’m having one of my ….I just want to scream days!
Let’s hope that James Bopp is over-the-top emotional in his defence of the US constitution.
Globe and Mail Editorial — The IRS and Its Inadequate Amnesty. About the “amnesty” and also mentions about the reporting starting July 1st. “The United States is being invasive and unreasonable, and damaging its relationship with some of its most devoted allies.”
Thanks Canoe and TaxConfuzzled for informing us of this article.

What a refreshing article.

Thanks for spotting this, Pacifica!
I sent Patrick Cain an email thanking him for the article and telling him that I am unable to comment.
Can anyone else comment?

Thanks, northernstar. Patrick Cain is an investigative reporter so that is his job. He did previous work on this issue before — a post here, along with 100 comments: http://isaacbrocksociety.ca/2014/04/04/how-to-get-rid-of-your-us-citizenship/. I hope he will not let this story die.
Uncle Sam Is Shaking Me Down. Margaret Wente, Globe and Mail.
@Pacifica
I have made 3 comments on this and they are not showing. None were offensive or even anti Harper. I guess mm I am marked as reject.
@ NorthernStar,
I’m puzzled. I can see 1 comment of yours today prior to this one at 9:49 am. That comment is on the Relinquishment and Renunciation Data thread at 7:51. Sometimes a real comment gets trapped by the spam filter, so I checked there, but didn’t find anything. Sounds like there’s 2 comments just “missing.”
I’m sorry your comments aren’t showing because your comments are welcome! All I can suggest is I hope you’ll try reposting them.
Hopefully another admin may know more about this and can be more helpful. I do know that this past week, several people have reported a problem seeing recent comments – Petros is working on that.
@pacifica777
I meant for the Uncle Sam article. Sorry I was not clear on my comment here. 🙂
