So join with me in the singing of the commemorative song, and toast with me to all that is is possible in a group effort! We are fighting our War of 2012, FATCA.

You’re really on a roll lately! Where do you find this stuff?
Hat tip on the burning of Washington: Kermitzii. I added the Three Dead Trolls song to his Whitehouse picture.
I dunno Petros. I`m just as angry as you are. But sometimes I think that if we held a stance of trying to HELP America, we might get further. FATCA is bad for America. CBT is bad for America. And if we cannot get the people there to understand that ( as Ron Paul does) then I fear we won’t get anywhere with them.
Thanks for the reminder. I never knew the facts about the burning of the White House. The Three Dead Trolls song is a real masterpiece. Now I am truly Canadian and no longer an American.
A great laugh, Petros! It was attempt at a takeover in Canada in 1812. Now it’s attempt to take over the world. It didn’t work then and it won’t work in 2012. Gawd 200 years of trying to take over. You would think it would get a little tedious, but no! What is with this mentality?
As Petros said, he got tipped off by my facebook post this morning. Actually just this morning I wanted to check out which day in August the WH was torched. I knew it was in August. I could not believe it was actually today! Pure luck. I hope this bodes well for the war of 2012.
Sorry. You lose me with this.
I believe one objective of IBS is to gain attention to and try to influence the powers that be in the U.S. for change to alleviate injustices as outlined. There may be better ways.
I wouldn’t want it burned again, but I would like it fumigated and purged of all the Socialist idead.
Yes, like recommending renunciation of citizenship? Oh, we can’t talk about that either. Seriously. Burning the White house at least afforded Canada 200 years of relative sovereignty. Besides, I think the song is lighthearted. If the Yanks have no sense of humour, then Lord help us all.
I long ago gave up any hope of influencing the powers that be in DC, so all that is left for me is my defiance and my CLN, and my ability to laugh at this absurd situation, which few people even believe when you try to explain it to them.
@Petros – The Republicans have repeal of FATCA in their sites, and also resolution about CBT. There are lots of Republicans inside and outside the Beltway. We want them on our side.
O.K. celebrate the burning of the White House. There would be probably a rather large group in America sympathetic to that one. Too bad there was no IRS in 1814 in D.C. for the British to Burn.
Interesting note from Wikipedia: the burning of the U.S. capital was retaliation against the American destruction of [Canadian] private property in violation of the laws of war.
Petros I think has a PhD in history and in religion. We cannot ignore the past. @JC this is just an observation of what happened in the past and makes Canada what it is today. We do not celebrate the burning of the WH at all. Most people never know it happened. We just need to spread the information about the history.
@kermitzii Perhaps a reminder that Canada is a sovereign nation separate from the U.S. – and not to destroy Canadian private property.
I hope we could support the “spirit of 76”. My ancestor died that year in the cause of “no taxatlion without representation”. When they came up with CBT they shunted aside the heritage and what that costly Revolution was all about. Forgetfulness? Ignorance? I want to support those homeland Americans who understand what is wrong with CBT and the tyranny it echoes.
Based on that quote from Wikipedia, how can it be permissible for the U.S. to destroy Canadian private property [confiscation, forcing compliance costs] in time of peace, but not in time of war?
I saw the following comment on this article about Burger King moving its headquarters to Toronto. What do you think?
Very sad, the USA fostered Burger King and now they bail on us. Canada does not have to pay for the aircraft carriers & nuclear missiles that keep us (and them) free and safe, that’s why their taxes are lower. The laws need tweaking to prevent this.
Tim, I like Burger King. I think I’m going to go over there for three Junior Whoppers w/cheese to celebrate Burger King become Canadian headquartered.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA… If one didn’t go around making enemies, maybe the Nimitz-class and Gerald Ford Class carriers and those T-LAM-N/Trident and Minuteman III might not be necessary.
…and HA HA HA HA…our taxes are “lower”?!!!!! Are you kidding me????? Tell that to what gets taken off the top every freaking paycheck that my wife gets. Or what I have to deduct for income tax on one of my commission checks when I get paid (work for myself). Lower taxes, my ass… BULLSHIT!
@Tim
“Canada does not have to pay for the aircraft carriers & nuclear missiles that keep us (and them) free and safe, that’s why their taxes are lower. ”
The problem is that Americans aren’t paying for those things either. I don’t fully understand the economics but America seems to be able to always put an arbitrary amount on the credit card–to be paid off by her children and grandchildren–due to the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency.
If Americans–and by this I mean real American residents paying RBT–had to pay the military’s bill in full each year through higher taxes, the military would very quickly readjust in size to only that which is truly needed to defend America. Many unnecessary military involvements–which have cost countless lives and earned us many enemies in the world–would quickly come to an end. Sad that it would probably take the threat of higher taxes to get America to do the right thing, but I think that’s how it would play out.
Note that I have great respect for the legitimate role of America’s military and for the service of our military and our veterans. But we aren’t doing ourselves any favors by endlessly playing the world’s (often rather brutal) policeman. We are both bankrupting ourselves and making a lot of enemies in the process.
@Tim
Burger King?! OH MAN- what`s more american than Burger King? This is so tragic! When is Washington going to see the light? When?! Why are they so deaf dumb and blind? Its amazing! And so very very sad.
When I was in Niagra on the Lake two weekends ago, a sign said it had to be rebuilt after the War of 1812 because the Yanks had torched the town.
@Petros
I’d done a little research on the songwriters when I sent you this video so long ago. One of them had their house trailer burn down. Retribution?
@bubblebustin, Did anyone see unmanned drones in the vicinity?
So Huff has a piece on Burgerking- and every commenter is raving and ranting about boycotting BK. Not one of them would consider tax reform. Its like it doesn’t occur to them. “Tax evasion” is the theme of our times, tax reform is not. Gotta get the “bad guys”- they think.
BK HQ in CA? Cool!
I’m gonna go order me a double whopper with cheese and fries now.
