Let me remind you again, Cannon fodder is what Americans are if they live outside the U.S. and don’t renounce.
The betrayal of how Americans Abroad are negatively impacted by FATCA is complete.
I’m getting used to the view from under the bus.
Oceania, and Newspeak is its official language
Sorry:

The pinnacle of Catholic blasphemous interjections. Often shouted, and done so only when the situation calls for it.
Atticus
Were you able to get my answers at the Kingston meeting?
The one involving Benedict Arnold trading account and past dated I-407?
When I left 35 years ago they told me it was invalid after 1 year. So I threw it out.
Thank You
Well, the knives are out. Solomon Yue, I hope you have nerves of steel!
@George, I printed and gave a copy of the case you referred to, to the lawyer. I also asked your question. He did not seem to think you had anything to worry about having had a Green card so long ago for only one year.
I think these reports are so irresponsible and so outrageous as to completely discredit RT and any other story they may do. This is pure propaganda. Disgusting and deliberate misinformation. ALL because if one side is “for” it then all logic is out the window because by knee jerk reaction then “we’re against it.”
These people repulse me.
@Atticusincanada
I could not believe what I was hearing…These guys did not even read FATCA…they know nothing about it except that they are attacking the republicans …This is their gig…This is their money maker…They make money off attacking the Republicans…..I am so steaming I am more than repulsed. I don’t want to say what I am thinking.
Thanks Atticus
Since seeing the 519 publication I knew i was pretty safe if I brought it to a Canadian court but I still will not cross the border or buy US assets (equities).
I sent a suggestion to Blaze how to fund a Supreme Court challenge and remain anonymous.
Use a pledge system to fund a successful procedure.
It does hurt that there is no property right protection in Constitution. but some provinces have property right protection. Calgary 411, Alberta does have property right protection.
I really do not think that if: US uses that 30% withholding that any of the 3 political party, if they were in power, would refuse an IGA, The Canadian government would not be to displeased if the Canadian Supreme Court would throw the IGA out. The 30% withholding on US assets for people who refuse to confirm there non USA status, will probably stay. The US government would then not be able to apply the 30% withholding to all transactions. The US government can ignore our government desires but it can not ignore Supreme Court of Canada,
I love, if statement, if you notice,
On the subject of RT they do have other guests on from time to time. Someone of you might find the RT “guest” on a different RT show to be a familiar face to the anti FATCA cause.
Unfortunately, his appearance on RT was to talk about issues other than FATCA. I think though a do over on the Thom Hartmann show with Mr. Jatras as a guest would be quite interesting and I will suggest the possibility.
It’s an election year. Lying time. Won’t change anything because Obama is so unpopular no one believes anything he says, nor his propaganda artists. The Repuglicans will take the Senate from the Damnocrats
I commented on the YouTube segment. What I find strange is that actually Russian TV (i.e. RT) should be supporting FATCA’s repeal as it will cause a lot of pain and suffering for Russian banks. It is not in Russia’s interest to be seen to be the lap dog of the USA in making Russian banks the agent of the US Treasury.
“It sounds so crazy you’d think I was making it up.”
Well, yeah.
Propaganda is an awful thing. Ignorance is fertile ground in which to sow propaganda seeds. The Agenda-ists … especially on the left side of town … are an absolute disgrace and have no moral scruples … they consider truth.to be an incidental hurdle to be stepped over … if not on and into the mud. How disgusting.
The crazy thing about all this is that what Solomon Yue says about FATCA is absolutely TRUE! One may rightly question some of the political motives behind the RNC resolution, but, on face value, its language is precise and well-informed. If only someone from the left would come out and say the exact same words. If only representatives of both Democrats and Republicans would stand TOGETHER to denounce FATCA and CBT, then we might break through the lies and propaganda and build a viable FATCA repeal coalition. It CANNOT be achieved by just one side of the political divide.
I have a dream of seeing Jimmy Carter speaking out forcefully against FATCA. His name was on the last formal review of Americans overseas (covered very nicely by USCitizenAbroad here). I would love to know his feelings about this situation and reach out to him to bring some badly-needed balance to the debate. We MUST have strong voices from the left to counter the ridiculous charge that being anti-FATCA means being pro-Republican or pro-tax evasion.
@Deckard11388
No only the republican billionaires and congress are the good guys. only them
I wonder how much these people were paid to lie about this. That is the only way anyone with half a brain might support Fatca.
@northernstar I am not sure what exactly you mean with your post:
“@Deckard11388
No only the republican billionaires and congress are the good guys. only them”
INMHO however:
Deckard11388 seems to be making a lot of sense to me in his or her post. IMHO both of the Gangs of Washington need to speak the truth with precision for good sense to take the day. Political motivation is NOT and should not be the issue in this – this matter transcends cheap national politricks. FATCA and CBT amount to a form of slavery – Humans and their work product being considered the chattel property of Governments who then collaborate (under threat of financial brutalization by the issuer of the world’s reserve currency) to cut off any hope of escape though any Underground Railroad.
Anyway – it is necessary that fair thinking people of all political persuasions stand and refuse this new form of Slavery.
One final thing in MHO; the US Republicans have no monopoly on Billionaires or Millionaires … that is more the preserve of the US Democrat party …. think Soros, Buffet, Gore and Kennedy for four … think Hollywood … think the Trial Lawyers association in the US where the vast majority are Democrats or contributors to the Democrats … think Wall Street which I have read contributes more to the Democrats than to the Republicans. As an outsider looking in it seems to me that the Republicans tend to include the more blue collar (though not mostly Trade Union) folk and self made people in small and medium sized businesses (the quiet millionaires) along with some Billionaires like the Koch (spelling ?) Brothers. Both of those parties have some obnoxious folk and some reasonably good folk. Neither have a monopoly on truth, goodness and honest analysis.
Peace … and may FATCA be repealed.
Meanwhile, more coverage of the “Abolish FATCA” petition site:
While Hartmann (the host) was in knee-jerk Leftish outrage mode over what he was hearing from Papantonio, it was clear that he was somewhat incredulous of the “facts” as presented — especially since not one thing Papantonio said was factual, though he swore to it more than once. (Starting with the fact that FATCA has nothing to do with the accounts of corporations, much less “cartels,” drug or otherwise.) Indeed, Hartmann is a big fan of Snowdon and opponent of the NSA. But he’d have no way of knowing from his guest’s “facts” that FATCA is very similar in its M.O. to the NSA program.
Yes, Hartmann didn’t seem too keen to give Papantonio’s message any legs.
@Jim Jatras – how very interesting …. Papantonio struck me as being utterly divorced from reality … it struck me that truth would be an unknown concept to him.

I seem to recollect having read somewhere recently that Socialist International at a recent meeting in South Africa endorsed FATCA – I suppose because they consider that more central planning and more control over the lives of mere people suits their ideology. http://isaacbrocksociety.ca/2014/01/07/from-fatca-to-gatca-alex-newman-hits-another-home-run/
