I’m not an expert on FATCA and don’t really want to have anything to do with it. Yet, the following caught my attention so I figured that it might be interesting to post it somewhere:
So, the goal of FATCA is for banks to report the income of expats.

This seems like a natural progression of the ‘Foreign Attack To Control All”.
It is so interesting/troubling to find that in “Finding US Persons” — “Passports can be irrelevant”. Get those outlaws whatever it takes!
Where were you born?
Either parent a US citizen?
Lived in the US?
Held a Green Card?
Spouse a US Person?
What country’s financial institutions is allowed to ask these questions?
Those questions. Wow. “Spouse a U.S. person?” All the questions really. I cannot imagine some bank teller asking questions like that of anyone. Yet, I”m sure the training sessions to do just that have already begun.
