10. You don’t like Canadian citizens of U.S. origin..

9. You want to help tax compliance vultures become wealthy.

8. In Congress you trust and Congress has spoken.

7. You are a shareholder in one of the big Canadian banks.

6. You are a shareholder in all the Canadian banks.

5. FATCA will give me grounds to divorce my U.S. spouse.

4. You believe in the Obama administration instead of believing in freedom and justice.

3. You believe that U.S. law should be imposed on Canada.

2. You are pretending to be a Canadian but are really a member of “Homelanders Abroad”.

and the NUMBER 1 reason to NOT donate is …

1. You believe that FATCA should be the Supreme Law of Canada.

Hmmm, let’s see what be with me …

#10 — I do like Canadian citizens of US origin … my husband is one (he now has a precious CLN but that doesn’t and shouldn’t remove his US origin)
#9 — I have never fed a tax compliance vulture and I never will … even wrote some decidedly anti-vulture song parodies to express my disdain
#8 — I long ago stopped trusting the US Congress AND the Canadian Parliament … when it comes to FATCA neither of them speaks for me
#7 — I am not a shareholder in any big Canadian bank … not even a customer
#6 — I am not a shareholer in all the Canadian banks … the closest I’ve come to being a shareholder of anything is being a customer of my local credit union
#5 — My husband, before gaining Canadian citizenship and quickly relinquishing Americian citizenship, graciously offered to divorce me (on paper only) if if would make our life together easier
#4 — I whole heartedly believe in freedom and justice and I’ll add privacy to that too
#3 — I will never accept the imposition of US law (or any other country’s law) on Canada … our laws should only be a reflection of our values
#2 — Of course I’m not pretending to be Canadian … I AM CANADIAN, never been anything other than Canadian
#1 — FATCA should never have been legalized by Canada’s parliament … a US law cannot be the Supreme Law of Canada (i.e. US FATCA Law of Canada is an oxymoron)

I have gladly donated to the current installment of the fund needed to advance the Canadian FATCA challenge and when the next installment comes up I will gladly donate again.

So, what be with others — donate or not donate? That is the question. A little from a lot of donors would get this installment paid. I’d love it to happen that way too, rather than having to hope a large donation will save the day.
