Sure, if I can find a link to the petition itself, I’ll put it on the Surveys and Petitions page. I didn’t find one in this article or in the two articles it linked to, though, and didn’t see it on Américains Accidentels FB page either (though I might have missed it, there’s a lot of posts on that page). If you — or anyone — has the link to the petition, please post it here. Thanks.
@ Harrison
I hope you have watched Karen and John’s video series about the transition tax. At the end Karen has some strategies. I’d listen to these two ahead of a CPA … but that’s just me and I have no skin in the diabolical transition tax game.
‘“no ticky no washy”?
Jesus…’
I bet Jesus knew how to use an ironing board.
Some of us on this blog iron our comments too.
“It is interesting to note IRS is resisting congress laws.”
So what? The IRS violates court orders too. And courts violate laws. And courts violate their own rulings. The IRS and the US Department of Justice fight each other too, with innocent victims being the pawns.
“But I thought Congress makes laws”
Yes. And courts make case law. Sometimes they contradict themselves from year to year. Sometimes they contradict themselves within a single statute or ruling.
“and all govt dept follows those laws.”
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
“Is the IRS above Congress as we are made to believe ?”
Yes. It’s called sovereign immunity.
@Embee. I saw all the videos and it was somehow this is like a nail looking for a hammer to strike. They simply need to tax anyone living offshore. US laws wants to tax every little fly not giant corporations. This is brought on by compliance condors. Somehow it seems they all want to concentrate on Canadian and Australian tax residents only but this is a problem all over the world. US wants to tax the tax residents of other countries. Passive incomes not earned in USA and not US source income why taxed by USA ?
They are right it is better to ignore all sorts of US tax laws and compliances from now on. US is itself making life impossible for individuals but giant corporations offshore are saved by their lawyers again and again.

I see that the TTFI proposal has not changed in 13 months. Links to prior discussion of this proposal are available here: https://wiki.fixthetaxtreaty.org/doku/doku.php?id=wiki:contents:us_tax:tax_reform#tax_reform_proposals
