March 8, 2016 UPDATE: Legal fees paid — on to Federal Court for Charter trial contesting Canadian FATCA IGA legislation.
Canadians and International Supporters:
You came through once again: $594,970 for legal costs have now been donated and our outstanding legal bill is finally paid off.
Thanks especially to those who donated even though they never had any “spare” money to give, and despite this gave over and over and over again.
This last round of fundraising also shows that our Canadian lawsuit remains dependent on the kindness of our International Friends: There would be no lawsuit without their financial help.
Know that a very generous donation (today) from a supporter in the United States made it possible to pay off the remaining legal debt. Also please appreciate that there would be no lawsuit without the help of the Isaac Brock Society which has kindly let us use its website to solicit funds.
Our next step is the Constitutional-Charter trial in Federal Court.
For this we need more Canadian Witnesses, and my next post will be devoted only to a request for Witnesses willing to go public, like our Plaintiffs Ginny and Gwen.
For the future: I want a win in Federal Court — and I want the new Liberal Government not to appeal that win.
Thank you all for your support,
Stephen Kish,

When you took on the IRS, you did it not only to help yourself, but you did it for those of us powerless like my wife, the ones who don’t have the financial means to do anything but stand stock still and hope to hell we don’t get noticed because we don’t have the finances to get clear. We can’t do anything because we don’t have the financial resources to do so. And my heart goes out to you as do my everlasting thank you.
Thank you…thank you, thank you…
I am so sorry for the harms your family has suffered in both instances, truly truly sorry.
Thank you for your exceedingly kind words. Yes your situation and others is why I do this. I cannot sit by and watch lives being so drastically affected when I know our government’s responsibility is to not to abuse our trust. I am humbled to be in the position to be of use to this cause. I may tend to see things framed in only legal issues, I may get somewhat impatient when I read laws misconstrued because I don’t want anyone here to be misinformed and rely on what in fact is not applicable.
I do this because it must be done and I am able to. And I do not do this alone. In addition to our lawyers, the ADCS committee, and Gwen, I just look around here and see families like yours and I wake up each day determined to get this done for us all. You motivate me and are in my thoughts.
None of us deserves this.
All the best to you and yours.
@EmBee
Instead of burning little US passports (they’d call a fire marshall or a SWAT team) why not hang a big paper mâché US passport in effigy. I’m thinking a US passport body with wrists in handcuffs, ankles in shackles and head in a noose.

I sure do like the way you think. But I still like to play with fire. It’s the Canadian way to make smores.
@Bubblebustin I would also be demanding a meeting with Scott Brison if I was in his riding. The response would probably be the same as I got from Scott and from my Lib MP, Kate Young.
Scott and Kate “have taken the liberty of forwarding” my concerns to has passed my letter to Bill Morneau. So have Stephan, Marc, Emmanuel and Jody. Bill is silent. Kate has refused to meet with me.
Is there anyone in Morneau’s riding in Toronto? Someone needs to demand a meeting with him.
How about effigies of Harper, JT & Obama, the terrible triplets or peas in a pod. Works for me.
EmBee –
Instead of burning little US passports (they’d call a fire marshall or a SWAT team) why not hang a big paper [sic] mâché US passport in effigy.
It’s hard to outdo real flames for adding drama to a demo. I’ve never seen “a fire marshall or a SWAT team” show up to confront those real flames.
So let your Brockish demo fantasies run absolutely wild. Maybe imagine yourself draped in a Canadian flag kneeling bare-kneed on asphalt and licking at the sole of a Made-in-USA boot labeled FATCA. That kind of symbolic action should keep you and other hypothesizers totally safe from all forms of the state authority that you … will never confront in the street.
(Mousies tippytoe to curb clutching tinkly bells that none dare hang around the neck of the big bad facat.)
Paper mâché is as acceptable as papier mâché. Go [sic] yourself. I know you’re doing your favourite thing here (nitpicking and belittling) but it always makes me wonder why.
Embee?! Is that you?
@ WhiteKat
Yes. I get irritated more often than you might think. Rarely here at Brock, often at other places on the WWW that my curiosity takes me.
