March 8, 2016 UPDATE: Legal fees paid — on to Federal Court for Charter trial contesting Canadian FATCA IGA legislation.
Canadians and International Supporters:
You came through once again: $594,970 for legal costs have now been donated and our outstanding legal bill is finally paid off.
Thanks especially to those who donated even though they never had any “spare” money to give, and despite this gave over and over and over again.
This last round of fundraising also shows that our Canadian lawsuit remains dependent on the kindness of our International Friends: There would be no lawsuit without their financial help.
Know that a very generous donation (today) from a supporter in the United States made it possible to pay off the remaining legal debt. Also please appreciate that there would be no lawsuit without the help of the Isaac Brock Society which has kindly let us use its website to solicit funds.
Our next step is the Constitutional-Charter trial in Federal Court.
For this we need more Canadian Witnesses, and my next post will be devoted only to a request for Witnesses willing to go public, like our Plaintiffs Ginny and Gwen.
For the future: I want a win in Federal Court — and I want the new Liberal Government not to appeal that win.
Thank you all for your support,
Stephen Kish,
for the Directors,
Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty
@Stephen Kish
How is the search for witnesses going? Since the bill is not currently in arrears I trust you are giving first priority to the search for witnesses. In four days if you aren’t fully funded then fundraising can move to the front burner. But for four more days the search for witnesses should take priority in consideration of those who have already donated.
If @calgary411 does not want to put her son forward as a witness I can respect that. But if not her son then who? For the next four days answering that question should take precedence.
@Stephen Kish
Basically I’m saying–do the job you’ve been paid to do. In four days if your supporters don’t meet payroll then you have the right to whine. But right now you should be focused on delivering value for those who have already donated and that means finding witnesses. Asking for money will be appropriate come Feb 2 if you aren’t fully funded. But for today you should focus on delivering value for the people who have already given money. I want you, Trish Moon, John R, Carol, and Joe Arvay to work harder than you have ever worked before in your life over this weekend to find the witnesses you need.
If you don’t succeed then–and only then–we will talk on Tuesday about further financial support.
@Dash Stephen IS working on finding witnesses. I have agreed to discuss the possibility of me being a witness with Joe Arvay.
Stephen continues to search and plead for people to be willing to be witnesses.
Dash: The people you address in your comment are working night and day fighting our common war, seeking our common goal, on behalf of us all. They have no choice but to fight on several fronts all at once. As Blaze has said, the call for witnesses is public and ongoing and so is the call for funding until it is fully achieved. The two efforts are moving forward in tandem, as they must. And frankly, at this moment, the funding issue is of greater concern because of the looming deadline. I find no quarrel with those who have stepped forward to devote their lives to this cause.
There tends to be a “hockey stick” in the donation graph h toward the deadline because so many persons are content to let somebody else do it. So here’s the plan: EVERYONE log in right now and donate 25 CAD EACH DAY until it hits the goal. You won’t be wasting money that somebody else would have donated. Many folks are waiting to see if somebody else will come up with all the money, but even if that happens, you are only down 25 CAD. The exchange rate for USD on Paypal right now is 1 U.S. Dollar = 1.36652 Canadian.
I like Tom’s suggestion — and just received a nice $25 donation.
@dash
Respect your inputs always but need to remind that the ADCS Board are working without any pay. They are doing their best it seems to me. Could they use help? I would guess that the answer is probably yes.
—And two Tom copycats just sent in $25 donations too…plus EmBee and BB pledges…
Trish & Carol & John & Stephen
You really have to stop lying around in bed all day watching TV and eating bon bons.
@ Tom Alciere
I can’t do your instant $25 per day challenge (not a paypal person) but I’ve got a green envelope which I will drop cash into each day and mail to ADCS on Monday. It will arrive late but Stephen knows he can take my pledge promises to the bank (as long as Canada Post does its part).
@Bubblebustin’ Not bon bons. Belgian chocolates like those that arrive in the mail with cash to support those lazy bums. Where would those yummy chocolates have come from if Stephen wasn’t doing his job?
I’m in for the $25 buckaroos a day! Gotta keep the team supplied with bon bons.
I can do more on the 1st of Feb, RIFF day!
@Dash1729
Just because Stephen is not talking about witnesses already volunteering does not mean there aren’t any. I am one, and I know of others. The last things I think these folks need is a lecture on priorities.
Just waiting for someone to pick up on my Trish & CAROL & John & Stephen and bed reference. It seems it’s nostalgia day for me.
Ok, ok, you can count me in for $25 x 3 via snail mail.
Where else can I get such a captive audience for my attempts at humour?
Re: “Just waiting for someone to pick up on my Trish & CAROL & John & Stephen and bed reference.”
That’s cause Bob, Ted and Alice haven’t checked out Brock yet today.
BINGO, pacifica777

I guess I could have sequenced it better to make it boy-girl-boy-girl if someone would like to superimpose our character’s faces over the actor’s (copyright laws and good taste might deter us though) 🙂
John & Carol & Trish & Stephen
Oops, I even got that wrong “…Stephen & Trish”.
I’d better give up.
Well, 1969 the year of the film Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice – the year this Carol came to Canada. I missed the movie — looking back, I would have been very busy ending one phase of my life and starting another. Pass the bonbons.

Please bear with me. I keep trying!! keep up the good fight.following all the things with keen interest.

@ crystallondon
As we are to you too! Most generous of you.
@Tom Alciere
What a great idea, thanks for the inspiration. ( now I can hide my birthday suit.)
@ Bubblebustin
You made my day with the Trish & CAROL & John & Stephen movie reference. Giggling over here.
@ Dash
Where do I collect my salary? Does it need to be reported on FBARS? Hang in there Dash, we are doing the best we can for all. I know it seems like it is taking forever. With the focus, determination and support of many, including you, we will get there and get this done. We appreciate the trust placed in us. There is and needs to be a lot of work going on in the background to every law suit, and that is being done.
Personally, I consider it a sacred trust, in the sense that people who have never met me are allowing me this opportunity to represent them. I am fully aware that there are some that have some misgivings about us lawyer types. Dash, my aim is to never let you down, and to always work on behalf of you and so many of us. I hope you can take my word for that. I am working with the most honourable group of people I have ever met in all my years of practicing law. Best to you always, Dash.

The Yanks are worried about the burgeoning fake passport market in Europe. Perhaps a clone for your friendly FFI to scupper the ‘Know Your Customer,’ take in procedures banks use for new customers?
Crystal, thanks — and thanks as well to the additional $25 donations from donors, those already received and those to come. A great idea from Tom.
