UPDATED!!
FOX News and Facebook have teamed up to present the first debates of the 2016 race for the Presidency of the United States.
“The format will allow Fox News viewers and Facebook users to share video questions via the social media site, some of which will be used for the debate, the network said.”
Readers of IBS who are also followers of Facebook may want to prepare questions that they would like the candidates to answer, such as this suggestion from Shadow Raider: “There are an estimated 8.7 million Americans living abroad, a population larger than 39 states. The United States taxes these people, but they cannot benefit from what their taxes pay for, since they are outside the country. The United States is the only country in the world that taxes its citizens abroad, other than the repressive government of Eritrea, which was condemned by the United Nations for this very practice. Should the United States tax people based not on citizenship but residence, like the entire rest of the world does?”
The first debate is scheduled for August 6, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. ET and will be aired on the FOX News Channel.
Moderators: Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace
Questions can be uploaded here (Thank You, Shadow Raider!):

It can be just text, and the second link doesn’t appear to require a Facebook account.
This is another great opportunity to make our voices heard. Let’s make use of it!

…I have just one observation on why FATCA needs to be repealed and it relates to being on the same level as any other country signing onto AEOI — not exceptionally for the US, with FATCA as part of the deal. (And, for many other reasons!)
From http://www.oecd.org/tax/transparency/AEOI-commitments.pdf, 6 March 2015, exceptionally:
“The United States has indicated that it will be undertaking automatic information exchanges pursuant to FATCA from 2015 and has entered into intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) with other jurisdictions to do so. The Model 1A IGAs entered into by the United States acknowledge the need for the United States to achieve equivalent levels of reciprocal automatic information exchange with partner jurisdictions. They also include a political commitment to pursue the adoption of regulations and to advocate and support relevant legislation to achieve such equivalent levels of reciprocal automatic exchange.”
Candidates should be asked to respond to the Taxpayer Advocate statements:
“……..Olson expressed concern that the IRS continues to view itself primarily as an enforcement agency, with taxpayer service receiving less emphasis.
“It should be emphasized that more than 98 percent of all tax revenue collected by the IRS is paid voluntarily and timely,” the report added. “Less than two percent [of tax revenue] is therefore collected through enforcement action. Thus increasing enforced collection would be a hollow victory if voluntary compliance declines because of decreasing taxpayer service.”
Olson urged the IRS to develop its long-term plans to place primary emphasis on “meet[ing] the needs of the overwhelming majority of taxpayers who are trying to comply with the tax laws.” Currently, compliant taxpayers “bear an increased burden in navigating processes designed for evaders. That is unwise, counterproductive, and expensive.”
