Hello Brockers!
Special for the holidays I have created a Greedy Giver campaign to raise extra money from those who don’t feel that this issue is about them. This is for you Brockers to share with friends and family who feel that giving to this campaign “doesn’t get them anything”.
Well now it can and will for a short time. (Click above pic or below coupon to take you to the campaign).
Please share this far and wide via email, Twitter, Facebook and whatever other means you can think of.
An example of a coupon that can be purchased on Greedy Giver to fund our campaign:
Wow – awesome Gwen — and Ginny!!!
This is a fantastic idea! Tweeted and now making the rounds of expat twitter community (retweets).
Up on FaceBook and I have just put up a homepage ad on Kijiji for Toronto. Keeping it Canadian, etc.
The cards are great stocking stuffers!

Fantastic! How could anyone resist Ginny’s pooch and Gwen’s puddy-tat? They need FATCA FREE mommies to take care of them. I hope this campaign really takes off. The goal ($5,000) is modest. It’s doable. Good Luck!
BTW on the Kijiji Ad it took me a few minutes to realize that the link to Greedy Giver is on the right under “Poster Contact Information”. I’m still not kijiji proficient so I was expecting it in the text. Doh!
Brilliant. Great timing too.
I put this comment over on the kijiji thread but just in case this info could be helpful;
In case anyone is able/inclined, an ad in kijiji etc could help promote our crowdfunding campaign. Because it’s a hard to choose where, I paid for a homepage listing where it can be seen. This is special and probably good for Christmas with the coupons!I just put it in community: groups and activities bc it doesn’t fit well anywhere else.
Advantage of homepage is an tickertape-type ribbon runs across the top of page and everybody who comes to the main page can scroll through the icons, click on and go directly to the page. Since I have been placing these for 2 years I am sticking with the NO FATCA icon because we have had thousands of views over that time period. So folks who have seen it before/have some idea what it is or know because they are affected will recognize. I would not use this icon if I were just starting up esp in a small town, etc. Also – keeping a Canadian focus on this with the pictures etc. And the FINA video.
@EmBee
Dont’t feel bad! They used to keep in the ad; I hate that is up on the side. Esp since you have to pay for the link to be “live.”
It’s “they’re bad”
Great idea, and efforts!.
Visually very appealing.
Does this money still get to campaign if it falls short of the goal of $5000.00. Because I know with kickstarter if you don’t reach the goal, then you don’t get the money regardless of whether you raise 1% of the money or 99% of the money. Peoples credit cards or whatever way they are paying is not charged until the complete goal has been reached.
Does 100% of the funds raised go to the cause or are the “free” rewards given paid for out of some of the donated funds?
Cheers,
Rocky
@Krackerjack121 – I chose to sign us up for getting the money regardless of reaching the goal. If we don’t reach the $5000, we pay a higher fee. If we do reach it, we pay a lower fee. I figure anything is better than nothing..
@Krackerjack121 – it shows you in the coupon how much goes to the coupon and how much goes to the cause. See the coupon above. However, there’s also a choice just to donate without a coupon, in which csse it all goes to the cause (minus admin fees).
Oh okay, I wasn’t sure how it actually worked. I was thinking about donating to the cause that way, but since all of the money doesn’t go through to the cause. I will just continue to donate through the alliances official website.
Cheers,
Rocky
@Krackerjack121 – thank you for your donations. This greedy giver campaign is really for you to share with those people who don’t believe the cause is theirs (ie. Non-US-tainted people). This way we draw in some people who otherwise wouldn’t give to the legal fund. The dedicated ones who know that the cause is theirs are better to do what you have said: donate at http://www.adcs-adsc.ca.
Fantastic! What a great idea!
