I am posting this on behalf of a group of Brockers led by Charl that has written and posted a hard-hitting, to-the-point article on Naomi Wolf’s “Cloudt” Facebook page. Naomi Wolf is the author of a book entitled The End of America which lists ten steps that are bringing America ever closer to the brink. The article informs readers of an “Eleventh Step” hence the title of the article as posted at Cloudt: “The End of America”: The Eleventh Step. For publishing here at Brock and elsewhere Charl, LM and MuzzledNoMore have chosen an alternate title: America: Behind the New Berlin Wall. They want to thank their editors for their assistance as well as Gwen for her technical expertise.

No mention of the problems immigrants face or the really bad deal a green card holder can have if they try and leave the US.
Naomi doesn’t allow guests posts on her Facebook page. Did ADCS receive a response from her?
@Bubble
You can post to her “posts to page” section on the left side of her FB site. It is part of her citizen’s journalism project.
Great job ladies!
Thanks for the head’s up, Charl.
Great piece! I hope everyone with a FB account will give it lots of LIKES. I see Victoria has already found it.
@Neill
People think that Green Card holders are under the radar… they are not… because alot of us didn’t think it was a big deal to change addresses on our banking or other things… we are caught in the net… especially border towns… when there were no jobs to be found in our home countries or whatever… GCs were easy to get… we went where we could make a living… There are ex-pats that seem to think we are tax evaders & don’t understand… taxes were paid to each country where the money was made… we are not citizens… so why would we think citizen laws pertain to us… We are/were legal visitors… I don’t know about U but I feel like a tourist being held at gun point & robbed & no one is willing to throw out a hand to help us…
…and green card holders actually in the US are in more dire straights than those outside the US borders — just for the fact that all they have is within those borders.
@Neil, maybe you can post a twelfth step.
@calgary411
Thank u… I forgot about that… Asians especially cause the money sent back is after tax money used to support their families there… pay expenses on things they still have there… investments for the future… many have joint accounts with elders… their form of inheritance… didn’t know that in India… parent can joint an account with a adult child without their knowledge…
@US_Foreign_Person,
I like the states. I liked everything until the IRS kicked me around. I planned on staying here forever. It feels bad now I find out I don’t have much choice.
@Neill
There is nothing wrong with u staying in the US… I object them acting like we had no lives prior & during in the US so everything we have… they have a right to… where we made the money… the money has been taxed already… why should the US get a bite of the same apple? US tax codes does not match tax codes in other countries… so we are suppose to be punished for that? How about immigrants who take after tax money home from the US… its been taxed already… why does the US get a second bite of the same apple… cause it ain’t off-shore to the immigrant… its down the street from their other home
Maybe the picture should be of surfs digging mud in a field instead of Laura Saunders picture that may be taken as a poor rich fatcat expat, getting away with something.
Good idea ladies. Naomi Wolf is well-liked. Maybe she’ll be president one day. Was she born in the U.S.?
I just posted this on the Facebook wall of the American embassy in France :
Learn why US citizens can no longer financially survive if they choose to live outside the borders of the United States because of Citizen Based Taxation and FATCA. If the USA no longer believes in the basic premise of “no taxation without representation” and no longer believes that her people should have the right to freely leave at any time to live/work/study beyond the US borders, then America is already dead; she has been assassinated by her own government. https://www.facebook.com/naomi.wolf.author/posts/1497154923896906
Thank you, Steven!! 🙂 Thank you for doing so much to spread the word! I enjoy reading all your comments about your efforts in France.
Thanks for this. The “End of America”: the Eleventh Step is an eye opener. For me, it connected the FATCA problem with broader, global issues. I will be reading Naomi Wolf’s book and looking at her website:
http://naomiwolf.org/
She’s got some very interesting and disturbing videos about the End of America as well.
Not counting specific statistics cited, I already knew most of what was posted here, except this which jumped out at me:
“In IGA-signatory countries, it is now legal for financial institutions to ask their customers for their place of birth, an act of blatant country-of-origin discrimination designed for the express purpose of ferreting out Americans. This would be illegal if practiced by a bank within the borders of the United States; yet is mandated by the US government in its extra-territorial FATCA regulations.”
I never considered the fact that banks WITHIN the U.S. cannot ask clients to reveal their origin of birth, while the U.S. is forcing banks everywhere else to do so. This is why the homelanders don’t get what we face abroad. They don’t face getting kicked out of a bank or their accounts turned into a foreign gov’t; we do!
I am afraid the golden age for America started to crack with Woodrow Wilson when he started to form a socialist style government, using marxist ideas that was applied in fits and starts for the next 100 years.
The tipping point was reached when the governments employees became more than 50% of the population, who will keep voting to keep all the benefits granted with the last administration. The new administration keeps giving the old benefits and adds a few of their own. All these employees need to feel useful so they write regulations (20,000 last month alone) These employees protest that they also pay taxes, when in fact all the money they receive is tax money and all they do is give back a little of it.
34% of the working population works in an industry whose product or service is paid for on purpose and 66% are teachers,policeman, regulation writers, and massive bureau’s that regulate the country to a fine point, 99% of which are un needed.
If we’d have had to actually pay taxes to pay all these people we’d have revolted years ago. The mealy mouthed D.C. Pukes borrowed money to pay the welfare and government employee salaries, however someone will be asked to repay the debt and will be unable to do so. We will then become the new Argentina. But don’t cry for me Evita, I’ll be long gone and you young voters, who put these Pukes into power, will have to handle it.
@ Wilton Tidwell
I found a comment at a recent Washington Post article which sadly I find to be spot on.
