[We now have a NEW POST taking us up to February 1, 2015. This post will be retired from service.]
THE AUTUMN 2014 UPDATE
Dear Donors,
Together, we reached our goal of $100,000 to pay the November 1 legal bill 11 days ahead of schedule!
Thank you Canadian donors from coast to coast and our friends from around the world for your generosity, support and determination — and especially for not being afraid.
The name of our non-profit corporation is the “Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty.”
We were very deliberate in including in our name the word “sovereignty”, which forms a cornerstone of our Claims against the Government of Canada.
Canada and dozens of other countries throughout the world gave into a bully because their “leaders” were afraid of harm caused by a trading “partner” — and they gave their sovereignties away.
Help us convince by example the Leaders and Governments of all countries worldwide that they should return their sovereignties back to their Peoples.
Please continue to support our lawsuit.

Chers donateurs,
» (Helen Keller)

Very happy to see people of the world stand up strongly for what they believe is right.
What fantastic news!
Many thanks Ginny and Gwen and all of you at ADCS, IBS and Maple Sandbox who are doing such good work and heavy lifting behind the scenes!
Thank you to fellow donors, and to those who haven’t given so far, this is an invitation
to become future supporters – look what has been accomplished. Please please help this along through the next deadlines with whatever you can give – large or small.
I wonder that this singular accomplishment – a true David vs. Goliath story, is not apparently of sufficient interest to Canadian and other journalists. This is a journey which started with a small group conversing on an online forum, gathered incredible momentum via this and the Maple Sandbox blog, and now, directly takes on the Canadian government’s cowardly and traitorous FATCA capitulation (the Harper Conservative government who bends to dance to whatever tune called by the US Treasury and State Department – the US extraterritorial governing of Canadians by proxy – on Canadian soil).
Onwards and upwards!!!!
Time to send in a contribution for the next tranche!!
Just got in from work and checked the progress. A huge thank you to all for getting over another hurdle. I will keep up telling anyone and everyone I know about Fatca. I have made so many new friends lately just by getting the word out. these are friends that really mean it when they say “thank you”. I will stay with this until the end and I know many many others will as well. The news for justice will keep getting better and better when we stand up and support it. Thank you everyone! This will restore the protection and justice you once had.
Wow! I am so impressed with all your efforts for such a long time. I am pretty new to all of this but will also continue to support the cause and continue to tell others about it. I agree that it would be great if the media will report on this incredible grass roots support for this very important cause for our democracy. That could only help in our fund raising.
Congratulations to all on this very important milestone! Very inspiring!
I’m looking forward to seeing the response of the government on both fronts–AGC and MNR–in the next month or so.
I also hope that there will be more tangible news on the US Yue-Bopp led FATCA lawsuit effort in the near future.
Awesome – glad we hit the target early
Weird question – if I cut and paste this link into my FB page the thermometer and title is incorrect. Can this be fixed at all?
Wow! What a day. Looks like the money order I sent last week will be among the kick-starters for the next phase. That’s what I was hoping for. Well done, everyone! (clap, clap, clap)
@All –
I send 100,000 cyber-hugs and a HUGE mazel tov!!!!!!!!!.
Starting tomorrow I will post new Kijiji ads throughout Ontario to try to spread the word so even more folks out there hopefully will know and join the effort. Anyone willing to post Kijiji ads about FATCA and ADCS in other provinces? You can take a look at what I have posted at http://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1023600780&siteLocale=en_CA. I’m also posting Gwen’s recent flier all over the local university later this week. Even if we can no longer send out mass emails to try to gain other’s interest, there ARE things we can do to help expand our numbers…….. If you have other ideas, please share. Again, CONGRATULATIONS ADCS – – WE WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!
US Republican Senator candidate Scott Brown talks about ISIS going into the Bank of Mosul and using its money for its operations (http://www.necn.com/news/new-england/Jeanne-Shaheen-Scott-Brown-Set-To-Debate-in-New-Hampshire-Senate-Race-279946572.html) – about 19.00 on the video.
Mr Brown how about ISIS using FATCA data against US persons in future? His Democratic opponent Sen Shaheen voted in favour of FATCA so she’s a lost cause on the issue.
@ LM
We only got 37 hits with our FATCA Kijiji ad listed under Discussions so we’re going to reword it a little bit and place it under Financial, Legal. Does that sound reasonable?
Congratulations to you ADCS!!! and now it’s on to the next phase!
Rhatid !
Absolutely wonderful! It’s a great day!
@ AtticusInCanada – I endorse your statement …. this is NO time to lose momentum which, once lost is hard to rebuild …. this is a time for continuing the marathon !
OK already, we have achieved the first two targets …. now we need to hold the third firmly in our gaze … WE NEED OUR THERMOMETER ! and to see it continuing to rise ! We need our running commentaries !
We need to continue to rally our Spartan band; to hold the pass against the onslaught of the Anti-Constitutional Hordes; against those who would deny us of our Rights NOT to be Discriminated against; who would deny us our Rights TO Privacy and our Rights Against unwarranted Search and Seizure of Ourselves, Our Property and Our Identities.
We have merely achieved the second milestone …. there are a number more to be reached.
Come ye of Stout Heart …. the fight is yet before us !
Stephen:
Can you tell me if Mr. Butera is looking into the legality of the U.S. charging any renunciation fee at all let alone the whopping one of $2,350.00? Expatriation is a “right” extended to all in U.S. law. It seems to me that a “right” should be free and accessible to all, not available only to those with the means to pay for it. It seems to me that, if the U.S. finds it so costly to process a renunciation that it should simplify that process rather than raise the fee for it to such punitive levels. Is Mr. Butera looking into this aspect of the matter?
@Muzzlednomore, you are spot on. Last I looked the Expatriation Act 1868 had not been repealed;
“Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That any declaration, instruc- tion, opinion, order, or decision of any officers of this government which denies, restricts, impairs, or questions the right of expatriation, is hereby declared inconsistent with the fundamental principles of this government.”
So yes, it does not look like any fee could be charged!!!
http://home.earthlink.net/~walterk1/Patr/US/ExpatriationAct.html
Further, it might be interesting to add into the lawsuit that the Government of Canada should be responsible for paying the renounciation fee for all affected Canadians because the Government of Canada created the problem by signing the agreement!!
When can we expect a court date?
@ EmBee
Sure – go for it. Just don’t make it too “in-your-face”, something that could lead to some reader calling it out as inappropriate and, then, taken down by administrators.
BTW, what cities did you post in – – did you post your Kijiji ad in more than one (in Alberta, right?) ?
What is the trial date?
Is there a possibility an injunction could be given to stop FATCA reporting until the court case is dealt with?
So how about some information about the progress of the case? One would think that when filed, there would be some sort of buzz in the media?
@ Cheryl
“Is there a possibility an injunction could be given to stop FATCA reporting until the court case is dealt with?”
What an EXCELLENT point!!!!!
In the meantime, we need to spread the word any way we (legally – – no SPAM emails or phone-calls allowed) can to make as many people aware as possible and, hopefully, helping to fund this constitutional challenge. I’ve just posted about a dozen Kijiji Ads in different Ontario cities (Community-Discussions section). Are you in a different province and could do so in yours?
