[We now have a NEW POST taking us up to February 1, 2015. This post will be retired from service.]
THE AUTUMN 2014 UPDATE
Dear Donors,
Together, we reached our goal of $100,000 to pay the November 1 legal bill 11 days ahead of schedule!
Thank you Canadian donors from coast to coast and our friends from around the world for your generosity, support and determination — and especially for not being afraid.
The name of our non-profit corporation is the “Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty.”
We were very deliberate in including in our name the word “sovereignty”, which forms a cornerstone of our Claims against the Government of Canada.
Canada and dozens of other countries throughout the world gave into a bully because their “leaders” were afraid of harm caused by a trading “partner” — and they gave their sovereignties away.
Help us convince by example the Leaders and Governments of all countries worldwide that they should return their sovereignties back to their Peoples.
Please continue to support our lawsuit.

Chers donateurs,
» (Helen Keller)

@NativeCanadian
At risk of speaking out of turn, I hope you make a special effort to reach the Mohawk communities in southern Quebec and Ontario, as I think there may be a high degree of dual citizenship within those groups.
@NativeCanadian and @NorthernShrike,
Thanks for your thoughts.
I am not familiar with the treaties between the Native Canadian communities and the Government of Canada but wonder whether the FATCA IGA might contradict a pre-existing treaty.
Could either of you please put me in touch with a Native Canadian representative (perhaps an attorney) who has a good understanding of the treaties as they might possibly relate to the U.S. FATCA law?
There might be a legal strategy on this that we could employ.
You can contact me through the ADCS website. Thanks.
Stephen, there are several treaty, as well as charter rights that Fatca violates in the Native community. I will work on a contact person for you before the end of the day. Native treaty and charter challenges can get funding from INAC.
@NativeCanadian,
Thanks. I am not aware of any carve out in the FATCA IGA for Native Canadians and am very interested in pursuing this from a litigation point of view.
Not for nothing, but found out today that CRA is auditing our last year’s filing. I don’t think it’s linked to any #FATCA stuff, but… makes one wonder.
A revolution among long-term overseas residents is now underway.

@JC. When I met John Richardson for the first time, II could tell right away, this was an honest man and his aim was true. Gwevil and myself met him in Toronto and you could see the care and compassion right before your eyes. The world is noticing you John, and I thank you.
Check out the article at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/london/11176363/Which-foreign-passports-are-most-common-in-London.html
@nervousinvestor – If the 68,000 ‘affected’ persons percentage holds true across the UK, that means there’s at least 500,000 affected by FATCA by US citizenship or place of birth. Given other possible circumstances, this would be an understatement in the UK.
@Don .. looking back I do not notice the context of the 68,000 “affected” however I suspect that these figures do NOT include full households, nor people who might be US Persons even though they might not admit to holding a US Passport … like Boris the Mayor who was refused entry to the US once because he flew there using his British passport … nor spouses and children living apart of US Persons …. nor green card holders and so on …… so I am quite confident that the figures do understate the effect of the US taint in Britain.
Then again we must remember that often the major reason to have two citizenships is for insurance against tyrants … therefore many will NOT disclose all their connections on a Government survey form.
Thank you all kind people.
Stephen Kish
Awesome… and the February goal will be reached as well. I know it. I have donated and will continue to.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. So many thanks to the persons who have voiced, with their donations to this cause, their free speech, their sense of true democracy, their outrage at what seems OK with all governments who signed IGAs with the US for FATCA implementation in criminalizing you and me and our children as we have some “national origin” that is defined “U.S.”
Happy Dance!!!!
YAHOOOO!!!
This is simply fantastic! And I hope all the government folks who doubt us and the tax-border folks who would so like to see us fail, are taking this in…..
Because I am the treasurer for ADCS ADSC, I see the donations and I have to say, it is overwhelming to realize that this is coming from the “little people” i.e., no big corporate donations (they won’t touch it, I guess) and no “sugar daddies,” Just amazing and not to be dismissed! Way to go!
Thank you so much!
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, and I guess really, I’ll put the “downs” away after this post. Lots of people worked hard to make sure this deadline was met. But, with it falling on average people…that’s still a lot of money to raise, with even more to look forward to. I hope those that give don’t run out of steam, or resources, to make sure this suit goes all the way.
But…the accomplishment of reaching the first 100 is amazing…and so grassroots.
If anyone is looking for even more inspiration to donate to our cause, check out the naysayers who post nasty comments at the ADCS facebook page.
Lets show them what the power and determination of average people can do, by getting a good jump-start into funding for the next phase, before we get all wrapped up in the holiday season!
@Brian
This is not the first $100,000. This is the 2nd $100,000. This is since June 1, 2014. In less than 5 months, we have raised $200,000.
We also raised $23,449 in 10 days Feb 25-March 6, 2014 to fund the legal opinion.
There’s no need for any “Debbie Downer”
Let’s keep focused on the reality which is that the generosity and determination of the donors is nothing short of astounding.
End of story.
Our giving to ADCS-ADSC could be part of our gifts to others for the holiday season.
Brian,
We need to stay positive and focused — our eye on the prize of rights upheld. I’ll keep hoping and trying for others to join in — and our eventually finding some deeper pockets to make it easier.
We had reached another goal before this $100,000 and the first amount needed in a few short days to make ADCS-ADSC a reality.
Almost 1/4 of a million dollars! Amazing! Isaac Brock would be proud of us all. I bet our Con government representatives are getting more and more nervous.
Way to go Stephen Kish, ADCS Board and all our friends and donors around the world.
@Debbie Downer: We’ll be back. We will do it again. And again. And again.
@Finance Canada: We warned you we would do it. We will persevere.
Yes, we will. Thanks to all Canadians and those from all the other countries of the world who have joined our Canadian fight!!!
So PROUD that it’s Canadians who are uniting the world against the FATCA injustice! Thank you to everyone who made this happen.
