[We now have a NEW POST taking us up to February 1, 2015. This post will be retired from service.]
THE AUTUMN 2014 UPDATE
Dear Donors,
Together, we reached our goal of $100,000 to pay the November 1 legal bill 11 days ahead of schedule!
Thank you Canadian donors from coast to coast and our friends from around the world for your generosity, support and determination — and especially for not being afraid.
The name of our non-profit corporation is the “Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty.”
We were very deliberate in including in our name the word “sovereignty”, which forms a cornerstone of our Claims against the Government of Canada.
Canada and dozens of other countries throughout the world gave into a bully because their “leaders” were afraid of harm caused by a trading “partner” — and they gave their sovereignties away.
Help us convince by example the Leaders and Governments of all countries worldwide that they should return their sovereignties back to their Peoples.
Please continue to support our lawsuit.
“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” (Helen Keller)
— Plaintiffs Ginny and Gwen, and the ADCS-ADSC team
Chers donateurs,
» (Helen Keller)

Eurotwig — that’s great. The more “twigs” the better. Some people think you need to build with bricks but birds do just fine with twigs. However, if someone wants to donate a gold brick to ADCS then PLEASE DO!
Looks like some gamers paid up the 30% withholding tax for FATCA. Hit them up for some money?

Stephen, your updates are important. This morning’s is especially poignant — the plea for the US to leave us in peace.
Why are our government representatives who we vote for to protect Canada and its people not as concerned about Canada, its sovereignty and ALL of its people than those who have gone through the US citizenship-based taxation flogging and are still willing to stand up for this country we love and call our home — and for fellow *US Persons* in Canada?
” This morning eight donations were waiting for me in the little post office box. These ranged from $20 to $5000. ”
Big things will come from that little box.
I thought I was already tapped out for July but my seventh envelope will follow next week.
The fact that you need more money to “sustain” the legal effort, is cause for optimism that you already have enough to start???;-)
The fact that we have had zero corporate donors and have only had donations from so-called “little people” (Davids to fight Goliaths) is a remarkable feat of will and perseverance on our collective parts. I have no doubt that we little people will prevail!
@ George
Your seventh! That’s awesome. I know the expression is “give until it hurts” but for me the best day of the month is when I mail off my ADCS contribution. It doesn’t hurt a bit. Smiles are few for me these days but I’m always smiling when I take that walk to the post office.
@Bubblebustin
I would also be interested in getting confirmation on the question you have posed.
Right now, based on that wording, I am thinking about how much I can afford to give on a monthly basis–so having already given in June and July my next donation should not be expected until August. I’m focused on what contribution level I can sustain monthly as opposed to a one-time urgent donation that might not be repeatable.
That’s my interpretation based on the wording but if I’m off I’m hoping Stephen or others will let everyone know.
@Dash, for some one off donations are what work. For others, its a monthly “tithing.” Others a combination.
I look at this as a Christian as I now do with everything in my life. Supporting the Church and supporting your neighbor is something we must do. ADSC is supporting my neighbor who I hope will support me when I need it.
My budget has simply become refocused.
FATCA gave me an alcohol problem.
ADSC helped me lift that problem.
Self destructive wine expenses are now being “funneled” to ADSC which is indeed much healthier. I attribute this to the Lord at work.
For other reasons, six months ago I started a note pad that listed new expenses and reduced or eliminated expenses. My seventh contribution will come from an otherwise eliminated expense.
But more importantly, I am praying for everyone involved with ADSC that they will first be safe, that they will not have any fears be they real or unfounded and that they will be successful.
I urge all Christians be they currently devout or wayward to pray.
For those of other faiths, we need prayer.
For those who are not persons of faith, the greatest thing we all can do is to love our neighbor and ADSC is an excellent expression of that.
Take a wild guess on Donation Zero and then worry about Donation One.
Better given to ADSC now than the IRS in future with penalties on top.
Amen to that @JC.
A stitch in time saves nine.
I just had one of those epiphany moments after following the comments in “Please Provide in This Post Approaches Big Canadian Banks Will Use to Establish U.S. Personhood…………..”
How should a Judge in a Court of Law assess the IGA?
A.) In the absence of the IGA, can “financial institutions” in Canada follow the US FATCA law without running afoul of the Charter?
Answer, NO. The sole purpose of the IGA is to allow Canadian Financial Institutions to “violate” today what they could not “violate” yesterday.
B.) Does the Charter exist to protect the people of Canada or transnational business interests?
Answer, the Charter was written to protect the people of Canada.
C.) If a Judge strikes down the IGA what are the repricussions?
Answer, the Charter is protected.
Canadian FI’s with Canadian customers and assets residing in Canada are not affected.
Transnational FI’s will be at the mercy of the southern wolf.
D.) As a Judge is there any precedent?
Answer, YES the revenue ruling where a Judge basically said it was too bad that offices in the lower 48 were at risk but that was risk they took on wanting to do business there. If a FI wants to do business in the US, Russia, China Libya or Timbuktu, they are taking on political and asset risk as well.
I know that many people have been very concerned to protect their privacy, to conceal their identity when making contributions, to the extent even of making donations in cash. I understand this. You must be comfortable with how you interact with ADCS.
That being said, I would encourage people to try to not be too fearful. Fear is their weapon; courage and confidence is ours.
Their are maybe a million people in Canada who are at risk. The plan is for the banks to identify these based upon data in their accounts, possibly new data requested by the banks. It means casting a net and seeing what you catch.
How can a donation to ADCS get you into trouble?
First of all, supporting ADCS does not necessarily mean that you are a “US person”, only that you agree with the cause.
Second, the name ADCS does not itself set off alarms for the casual bank employee seeing a cheque going through. To screen for donations, it would be necessary to implement a system for scanning hand-written cheques looking for clues. Do you think the banks will undertake this unless forced to do so?
Payment by credit card. What can be learned from that? Not very much. It doesn’t tell investigators where your savings and your pension accounts are. (Out of coincidence, my savings and chequing are at a different institution than my major credit card.)
At most, these sources will produce names that can be searched elsewhere, e.g. among bank customers. But the IGA does not call for utilizing this kind of information.
If you are completely fearful, you won’t participate in IBS or Maple Sandbox. You won’t mention FATCA in emails. You won’t visit the IRS website. You won’t Google “FATCA”. Because none of these actions are entirely secure from government scrutiny.
Why am I saying these this?
First, I hope we might combat fear, which as I said is a major weapon in the US arsenal.
Second, fear broadly speaking makes it difficult to spread the word and to utilize social networks. It may inhibit us using Facebook, crowdsourcing, or online petitions. I have no specific proposals in this direction, but they are possible tools for communication and for fund-raising.
This line of thought, I must say, is just some speculation on my part. I have no information that is not already available to all of you.
I want to make it clear that these are merely my own ideas and I have no special expertise. I have access to the same information as everyone else. And to repeat:
You must be comfortable with how you interact with ADCS.

@ All: My fortune cookie read today “Don’t give up, you’re almost there”. Since FATCA is the biggest and only challenge in my life right now, I’m willing to bet it is meant for ADCS. Just had to share.
@Calgar411,
I’ve heard that fear is not far removed from anger. If one can turn fear to anger, one can be a force to be reckoned with.

OOOOPSSS….and yikes….don’t know how all that extra stuff got in my comment.

You all mention fear.
I want to thank the fearless Canadian who just responded to my request for plaintiffs.
Bravo, fearless Canadian — and thank you!

Recent WSJ article says Canada’s banks could spend 1billion !!! on FATCA compliance. Also mentions ADCS. And quotes Stephen Kish.
Here is another link to the same article.

Thanks, KalC and FromTheWilderness,
If, like me, anyone cannot get past the log in / subscription page: go to GOOGLE NEWS; in the search box there, insert Canada Banks Tally Their Tax-Compliance Tab. I was successful in opening the article that way.
Hearfelt thanks to Stephen for being interviewed, and for achieving mention of the Canadian legal challenge and the ADCS in the WSJ! May it put the US and Canadian governments on official notice nad on the record that even if the Canadian federal government is traitorous and cowardly enough to deliver over its own citizens to a foreign power’s extraterritorial claims, and the US is morally and ethically bankrupt enough to use extortion and might to demand Canadian sited assets of Canadian residents with NO US connection – despite facing a Goliath, ordinary Canadians will seek to protect Canadian sovereignty and the Canadian taxpayers and accountholders who will be forced to pay for the multicourse free lunch the US is demanding forever and ever with FATCA. The Harper government is collaborating in the US extraterritorial extortion and extraction of our legal, local, CRA reported and taxed Canadian wages and family savings – and the abrogation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Canadian laws.
Thank you and all the others who have come forward in the US and Canadian media to shine much needed spotlight on the FATCA and CBT iniquity – by the US government – and the Harper collaborators.
