Beyond any other results, it shows the value of planning ahead. Michelle Bachmann could be the coming representative for all *US Persons Living Abroad*.
Bachmann’s bill is brilliantly crafted. The senator had previously announced that she would not be seeking reelection to her Congressional seat in 2014. Sources say she plans to move to Istanbul after her current term expires. If her bill becomes law, she would automatically become a citizen of the 51st At-Large State and would be eligible to run for a seat in the House of Representatives or the Senate.
It is such a shame that there are so few women occupying positions in government and one of them has to be looney tunes Bachmann.
Good initiative. However if Bachmann moves to Istanbul she’d also have to deal with FATCA, CBT and the rest of it!!??

Folks, this is satire.
Bachmann’s existence is satire!
She may like the idea.
Let’s not forget Bachmann’s husband is Swiss and she was going to apply for a Swiss passport until the US press demonised her.
Good idea (and I suppose she’d run for office from her home in Switzerland) but Michelle has other motives with this one.
Also the 51st should have at least 1 Representative and 2 Senators like the US Constitution gives all other states.
Michele Bachmann — a dangerous gatekeeper. Yep, it’s gotta be satire because there isn’t a human rights abuse this woman doesn’t drool over. The most recent Gaza massacre no doubt gave her rapturous vapours.
THE ADOBO CHRONICLES is your source of up-to-date, unbelievable news. Everything you read on this site is based on fact, except for the lies.
Other news from cyberspace (not satire) — skip to 21:54 …
One other thought – her bill will never make it through a Democratic controlled Senate because Levin, Schumer and crowd know how hostile expats are about FATCA and would fear a Republican candidate winning in the Senate possibly changing the majority.

Re: “The Moment of Truth” video
An important presentation begins around 1:37:00 where Bob Amsterdam speaks about TPP and the loss of sovereignty which goes along with that travesty.
Does this mean we could get food stamps after the IRS wipes us out?
That should be 1:37:00 (an hour and a half into the video).
At least another avenue of focus that US P abroad do not have representation and are being treated badly by the US government.
WTF? This has as enough chance of passing as my mamma has being

A single piece if this since FATCA passed in 2010. It’s been a one-way street for the gov and treasury. Not one little thing yet to trip the bast_ ards up.

It’s a joke/satire. congress.gov shows no such bill.

I understand your frustration. Has anything, anyone, anywhere ever stopped the sap-sucking agenda beast? Not so far. Since the beast moves by stealth and sometimes imperceptible steps It’s a laudable achievement just to make some people who are besotted by the deliberately mindless distractions of our times aware of the beast’s existence. We are in that awakening stage, some progress is being made, and we have even started throwing some tacks down in the path along which the beast is plodding. Notice I did not call it the FATCA beast or the CBT beast because those are only parts of the agenda which includes total surveillance, confiscation and other even more evil schemes. We can take heart when New Zealanders turn out in huge numbers to demonstrate their awareness and objections to the surveillance state and when Canadians initiate a legal challenge to FATCA. These are small yet still significant disruptions to the agenda and there will be more. However, I hate as much as you obviously do that it is so difficult to land a punch on the agenda beast. We must keep punching though because if we don’t, the future is certain and we certainly won’t like it, not a bit.
Ghost….regarding that Zero Hedge article and the attached comments…..
You know how movies and TV shows are rated? I mean letters and numbers like “PG-13” or “G” etc. I really think they’re missing the most important one that they don’t use, and this REALLY applies to much of the USA’s current output. I think they need a new rating called “IQ75” which would be appropriate for a huge percentage of what we see and read. Those Zero hedge comments truly are IQ75.

Haha yeah, good one

For relief from the constant bad news concerning this issue specifically and related areas. It is beyond anyone’s control to produce any good news where none exists. After 3 years of daily work, some of us can use a bit of distraction via humor. Was not meant to be offensive in any way, shape or form.
Be Peaceful all …please …. Peaceful resistance is the most difficult to overcome.
The controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement may be crucial for Canada’s economy, but it’s unlikely to close anytime soon, says one of Canada’s top economists.
The multilateral talks — involving hundreds of negotiators from 12 countries over an agreement that would create one of the world’s largest free trade areas — have stalled. There have already been more than 20 rounds of negotiations, the details of which have been kept secret.
Doug Porter, chief economist at Bank of Montreal believes the chances of talks settling outstanding issues are slim.
“I’m not optimistic on those talks at least not over the next three years or so,” he said during a panel discussion for the Toronto Region Board of Trade.
“The reality of the situation is unless the U.S. gets fast-track authority (for a free trade negotiation) it’s going nowhere … The multilateral nature of these talks means that if everybody isn’t cooperating then it’s not happening.”
U.S. president Barack Obama has faced difficulty in getting Congress on board with the trade talks and has not been able to convince politicians to give the White House “fast-track authority,” which would allow Obama to sign the deal without a debate in Congress.

To say nothing of the wisdom and vast knowledge of such a representative for American expats: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2068503/Oh-dear-Michele-Bachmann-latest-political-blunderer-saying-close-U-S-Embassy-Iran-30-years.html.
