Brockers! Please distribute this far and wide. We need the media to pay attention to this story.
Please download this Press Release PDF and send it out to your Local Papers, TV and Radio Stations! Tweet and post on Facebook!
We need people to wake up and join the Legal Challenge, but they won’t do so unless they know what is happening to our country.
Here is the .PNG version for Twitter and Facebook posting (please “save image” to download the .png) and attach to your Twitter and Facebook posts:
Are you sure you want the ADCS press release to be linked to from the isaacbrocksociety?
Brockers – please distribute this press release far and wide! We need to get the word out!
It is also posted at maple sandbox. However, if people message me on here, I can send them the actual pdf as a file.
Where is the press release on the ADCS site?
any link to the vote tallies?
@Em,
That was what I was getting at. Perhaps the link (which people will copy/paste) should be on the ADCS website, so that ADCS is not connected with IBS or Sandbox.
Got gremlins in my computer today … recent comments not appearing properly and such. It’s difficult to explain but I’m finding some workarounds. Hope this is not widespread.
Ok I am out now, but I’ll be able to do that soon. Hold up for the moment.
@ Mark Twain
Here’s the recorded vote. There are a lot of “Didn’t Votes” …
http://openparliament.ca/votes/41-2/207/
Even if the opposition members who did not vote had voted no, the bill would still have passed….
@Em et al. Looking at the votes, things cannot get more polarized than this! This is worse the the House of Representatives in the USA. Also Em I find that pages with comments are often cached in the browser and you need to page refresh to update them.
Trudeau didn’t vote?????
@ kermitzii
All I know is that Brock and the Maple Sandbox are not working as before. Navigating is getting difficult. Camino was fine yesterday — useless today. Safari is barely working but presents other problems with copy&paste. I may have to just read what I can find, wait, and hope things straighten out. I’ll try increasing the refreshing though to see if that helps (it was never necessary to do so before). Maybe my techie-lite husband can do some browser updating or something that will help. I know nothing about such things.
Bad news- but expected.
It’s a full moon today, Friday the 13th.
@ Bubblebustin
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry but this full moon is called the Honey Moon. I guess Harper married Obama yesterday and tonight is their Honey Moon.
@Bubblebustin,
Oh, Oh!
@Em
I don’t feel Ike it, but I laughed anyway at what you wrote A marriage made in hell it seems.
Further to WhiteKat’s point; one could always save as a PDF with another file name and then send as an attachment.
@Em – I had a similar browser navigation problem today. I had to clear my browser history to get everything working properly again.
I went to a job interview today in the UK. They were interested in my accent. I just said my father was American and I went to American schools, but I did not want the accent as I was ashamed to be mistaken for an American. I finished school at 17 and at 58 I still have the curse.
Ok folks, this is now a file that is on the ADCS-ADSC website under “In Parliament” and it is also on here as an updated link, not associated with Brock.
However, Please do what Badger has recommended and what I also endorse. Please download the PDF and send as an attachment with your emails.
Thank you!
sickening. “Be true to your school” Groupthink and the associated punishments for not following the party line versus doing what is right. The actions of the Canadian conservatives is like watching Demonicrits Abroad being censored by the home office.
I will go ahed with the “second class Canadian” t shirts. This is Despicable!
@MarkM…..thank you for your most interesting post.
“I went to a job interview today in the UK. They were interested in my accent. I just said my father was American and I went to American schools, but I did not want the accent as I was ashamed to be mistaken for an American. I finished school at 17 and at 58 I still have the curse.
”
I have developed my own methodology in the last 2 years ….I am proud of my accent and heritage but I jsut say “oh yes I went to American schools while in Europe and high school/undergrad in the USA” ……….the literal truth. ……. as I consider my history and FATCA-take my own business.
Ours I consider, is a proud and mighty heritage apart from the obsession with exceptionalism and CBT.
I think you and I are lucky enough to live inthe UK which has so much-public transport, thousands of years of recorded history, european access to social legislation but our own currency , healthcare, minimum safety net, the Royal family (god bless LIz, she is treasure), a sense of decency and self worth which allows them to muddle through, an ability to accept differences (the Great British eccentric) , the only empire in history that ever gave up peacefully, a sense of fair play, queueing, decent managers (I can cheek my bosses something rotten which would probably get me fired in trad us corp culture)… I could go on.(including Mark Carney and David Cameron)
downside is poodle central here which gave rise to section 202 of the Finance Act 2013. (implementing FATCA in UK)
I have been blessed with both cultures and the gift of having been able to actively choose UK and by that choice live up to the truest sense of American patriotism-no taxation without representation….
wishing all Brockers a safe friday 13th
