I urge one and all to watch this important and revealing look at the most powerful rogue state in history:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/united-states-of-secrets/
United States of Secrets, Part Two, will air on Tuesday, May 20th.
This series dissects, with chilling precision, just how far the United States has strayed from its Constitutional and moral center, especially since 9/11. There appears to be no law or Constitutional amendment which cannot be safely dispensed with in the name of those who died on that fateful day. Any true patriots who perished in those towers must surely be rolling over in their graves by now.
While the NSA’s massive domestic and international electronic surveillance campaign, dubbed “The Program”, was initiated by the Bush-Cheney White House, it has not only continued under Obama, but has flourished, for it is now enshrined in law. In the larger context provided by this documentary, FATCA may be seen as just one more layer of a pervasive, persistent, global information dragnet that is truly Orwellian. By any objective measure, this monstrous technical and legal system provides the very foundation for an inevitable one-world surveillance society.
The would-be heroes of this story include not only Edward Snowden, but an unlikely cast of NSA insiders, who agonized about the removal of all remaining privacy and due-process safeguards, and who ended-up like all good American government whistleblowers: having their front doors rammed-in by FBI SWAT teams. A cautionary tale, to be sure.
This is not even the already sick and dying America I remember as a ten year old kid by the late 60’s. This is something even more evil and dangerous. This is a nation that has not only completely forgotten its founding principles, but which continues to cloak itself in hypocritical, pious rhetoric while simultaneously destroying every last vestige of democratic freedom for its own people, and for the entire world. We are indeed mere roadkill on America’s unstoppable journey to a vastly greater version of hell.
Watch the program, and weep.
@ FuriousAC
The Michael Barber reference had me wondering what in the world is happening in Canadian schools now but Atticus just gave me some good incites into that. Most of all I feel so bad for those poor kids who are facing all that surveillance, testing and indoctrination during their school years. The data mining aspect is horrifying. However, I think there was a hopeful ending to the Common Core video. It’s still early in the roll-out so there is time to try to nip it in the bud PLUS where it has been rolled-out it seems like teachers and parents do catch on and protest — in some states successfully too. I wonder how to label this travesty? This is a corporate-government collusion to create placid little worker bots for the enrichment of the elite and to continue to satiate their lust for total control and endless power. One thing’s for sure, it is NOT democracy.
@Em: The hope at the end of the video is the knowledge that where this has been implemented ( VERY eye opening as to HOW they implemented it in the first place) it is being vigorously pushed back against.
Little children so traumatized they will not go to school… being diagnosed as psychotic so they can prescribe drugs!
New schools being built with pharmacies within their walls so they can drug up our children, take 13 year olds for abortions without parents knowledge or consent. Make education so difficult to understand children become frustrated and depressed. All the while the drum beat of political indoctrination in every book.
It is utter evil. The sad thing I took from it is twofold: One , people had their children subjected for two years to this nonsense and they deliberately made it almost impossible to dismantle. UNTIL parents become so incensed and enraged at the destruction of their children they HAVE to take action. All of it so unnecessary. But they don’t care about the children as long as they become tools of the state.
And Dr. Vesta’s remarks at the end : ‘I have given perhaps 139 of these talks with a total of about 30,000 people. Just a drop in the bucket, ( and the camera pans the room, where there are about 50 people, all about grandparent age and older.)
And he admonishes : ‘Go from this place and tell your local representatives . Light a fire under them to do what is needed to end this thing’
As he said, most parents are so busy making a living, they have NO idea what is going on , until it hits their state and begins to affect their children in such negative ways.
Even two lost years in the life of a child and his/her education is a high price to pay ! This evil plot must be ended. Seems to me, looking around there are an awful lot of ‘evil plots’ being foisted on people !
Snowden did the world a favour in whistleblowing and I am surprised he has survived to this point. But I am very glad he has and perhaps it is a start to wake us all up to just exactly what they plan so it can be dismantled before our way of life, so hard fought by our parents and grandparents ( and our military today) is ended before we even realized we had a fight on our hands.
Well, we know it now. Time to get CrackALackin ( as Adam Carolla would say)

GOOGLE Hola. DOWNLOAD IT and add the plug in to your browser, and then you will be able Frontline. It gets you around the Regional blocking. I use it all the time from New Zealand and Australia all the time to watch otherwise blocked sites. One of the best proxy server tools I have used. Simple and it works!
Quite pertinent to the above discussions:

I don’t have a lot to add to this but a couple of thoughts that will probably go against the grain. What really bothers from an American perspective is not so much the spying or aggressive policing but the lack of accountability spread among multiple different agencies. The US would be much better in my opinion in having a single Federal police agency( akin to making the FBI more equivalent to the RCMP) and single Federal intelligence agency(CIA). At least you would have some direct accountability.
I happen to know more than a few FBI agents and state police troopers would like nothing more than to see IRS agents stripped of their firearms along with a bunch of other government agencies that have their own “private” policy forces such at the ATF, Secret Service, etc.
Just as a matter a personal viewpoint I have no problem with the Mass State Police carrying MP5 and UMP guns at Logan Airport in Boston(the same as what they have in Europe and Asia at Heathrow, Narita, CDG). I would have a BIG problem thought with some mall-cop airport police having those same weapons or IRS agents. NOTE: Massachusetts and Boston are the only state in the US to have this type of EU/Asian Airport policing. Personally I would much rather see the OPP or RCMP at Pearson Airport than the “cough” Peel Regional Police “cough”. (Airport screeners and Customs agents in Canada are much better trained and paid on the otherhand).
BTW speaking of credit unions, they are NOT engaged in the kind of criminal activity that our banks are. I have found one in BC the other day and while I’m not yet a member I have nothing but admiration for them after doing some calling. They are capitalized to just 31,000,000.00 which is way way under the 175,000,000 threshold and best of all they really understand us, know what we are going through, have no love for certain foreign hostile countries and….WANT OUR BUSINESS, and really best of all, go look at their list of members, these are our people, the very ones we want to support. In my opinion everyone in BC reading this should open an account and put some of their ex-bank money in here:
http://www.ccec.bc.ca/groups-businesses/membership-directory/
….and go out of your way to do business with their clients too.
Disclaimer…..LOL no I am not getting anything by this endorsement nor do they even know I’m doing this. I did this on my own.
On the subject of drugging children at the request of the idiots that run our crummy excuses for schools, I heartily advise that everyone read what Peter Breggin MD former head of the American Psychiatric Society says in his books. I know Peter and his wife Ginger and absolutely guarantee is 100% ethical which is why psychiatrists everywhere hate him and book stores generally don’t carry his titles like:
Talking Back to Ritilin
Talking Back to Prozac
Reclaiming Our Children
Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal
Brain Disabling Treatments in Psychiatry
Toxic Psychiatry
Medication Madness
The Ritilin Fact Book
The Anti-depressannt Fact Book
The Heart of being Helpful

You are commenting on the post for Part 1, ghost66. Part 2 is scheduled for broadcast on May 20th. Chilling documentary by PBS Frontline. A must-watch for sure.
Oh, I see, it is another link, this time on YouTube, to use to view this Frontline documentary — thanks!!
Chears, as someone who has worked in schools I can tell you the staff and teachers in them are not “crummy idiots” My son’s fiancee is teacher and my step mom is a professor of education who implements reading programs all over the world. Dr. Linda Dorn is her name. Look her up. And I hardly think she is a “crummy idiot” Teachers and staff in schools for the most part are caring people who went into a profession because they care about kids.It certainly isn’t for the money! I am tired of having them constantly demeaned. Our schools especially here in Canada with all the cuts do the very best they can with what they are given to work with. The best teachers are leaving though due to cuts, constraints, and constant demeaning from the public, parents, and the press. Keep it up and no one who really cares will bother being a teacher anymore. We’re almost there now.
Furthermore, some families have kids who actually do have illness that requires medications. My son was one who suffered greatly before he found the right help through no fault of his own or ours. He is now studying at a four year progrram at U. of T. to go into para medicine and then go on to become a physicians assistant. This would NOT be possible without the help of his doctors and his medications so I take exception to your post against both psychaitry and families who have children who actually NEED the medications they receive. For some people these medications save lives. We know all about the withdrawal issues and for some people coming off these meds is not possible. I’ve been there up close and personal witnessing when a med stopped working. I’ve seen a loved one go through this entire situation you rail against. Walk a mile in my shoes. The implication in the video you posted is insulting to doctors who do help people, their patients, the families of these people and to top it off teachers.
Until there is a life saving alternative to the meds some people need then we will have to live with the risks. It’s a frightening, hard way to live but, it is reality for many. Frankly, these medications can mean the difference between life and death so while one side is presented the other must also be.
The war on psychiatry that Scientology and others have waged is something I do not agree with, obviously but, as you brought it up …I lived with someone who suffered severe panic attacks which lead to severe depression. That person is now a 3 year volunteer with St. John’s ambulance and has great compassion for others who have had both physical and mental illness. He has decided to use his bad past experience to enter the medical field and help others. He will be brilliant at it provided he continues the meds he needs. Without them ..his future is over. Period! I know many other families who have the same story with one young woman,a professor now who was hospitalized twice in her youth as she is bi polar. The headline of this video suggests parents like me have turned our children into “performing chimps” I volunteer in my community to help families like mine who have been there. They are all wonderful families who struggle with things others have no idea about. They already face stigmas and deal with them bravely. I’ll not have their life saving choices put down without answering back on their behalf. Most young people who have these issues start having them in middle or high school. That is just the way it is. These brave young people can and do go on to lead productive lives provided they get the help they need. Many others do not get that help and are at high risk of suicide.
It really bothers me when the legitimate use for medications is roundly dismissed or worse and when the entire psychiatric profession is demeaned. ALL Mediations have risks, no one knows that better than the families who deal with these disorders and their doctors. My son also had many physical illness for which he also took medications which saved his life.
Doctor Breggin, I am sure believes in what he is doing. There is a counter argument to some of his claims on Quack Watch. He is into the business of parent shaming an awful lot and I’ll NOT have that. Families like mine already are put in a position of “defending” saving the lives of our children. What is his alternative for kids like mine then? Never mind, it would not be helpful for me to know it as we tried everything else for over four years while we watched our son’s life going down the tubes desperately trying everything other than medication first as most of these families do. I know very well what our alternative would have been and it was not pretty. Nothing else worked. Meds worked, caring teachers worked, great doctors..yes psychiatry worked. There are thousands of people in our communities living bright futures because of these helps right now. Are there bad outcomes..yes there certainly can be. That is the risk we LIVE with due to the nature of these illnesses. The alternative is terrifiying.
I thought the Frontline program was excellent and will watch the second half. However Chears, you’ll forgive me if I skip the other information you’ve posted. I’ve heard it all before. Yes, this was a rant. I apologize to all of you but, Chears I think your post might be harmful to people going through some very difficult circumstances. They deserve a voice too. Whatever, your opinion on these matters or mine perhaps the Frontline program has nothing to do with what we’ve ended up discussing. That’s a shame. Back to our regular programming. One can only hope.
@AtticusInCanada
I agree with EVERYTHING you said. AWESOME Rant. Thank you for speaking up on meds and teachers. I have known family members with bi polar disabilites. Meds DO help. And most teachers are doing the best they can for their students. I hate Scientology. I came upon them in 1969. Creepy controlling organization. My intuition sent out signals to stay clear away from them.
I watched the whole part one of Frontline it was amazing. I will be watching part 2 for sure.
For a change of pace —
Many of you have probably seen this over the past years — it has been since I first saw and heard it my inspiration. Full screen; good speakers; full sound.

RE: United States of Secrets
Thanks for the heads up about Part 2. I can watch it “live” on TV in about half an hour. It will probably appear on youtube later too, like Part 1 did.
Sorry… didn’t know where to put this interesting article
