To get the most mileage out of these interviews someone should upload them to YouTube with a wide range of meta tags.
Wow. That was absolutely fantastic. Now they should do one on how much tax revenue will be missing from Canadian coffers when there are something like 1-4 million americans living in Canada out of maybe 35 million Canadians in total. Its one thing to have a handful of american citizens in a foreign country. It is another to have such a huge percentage of a population being taxed by another country! Somebody should do a cost benefit calculation on that- because it might be more lucrative to rehaul the banking system than to let so much canadian money flow out of the country to another country`s treasury. Besides the fact that it is so outrageously unfair and exploitative.
and, on the depressing flip side, in the US of A…. DATCA lite is upheld by Federal Court.
The four CBC stories are a media breakthrough! Bravo and thanks to those interviewed, the interviews were excellent!!!
Sent these story links to the Federal Liberal MP’s following the FATCA file. It’s worth noting that a previous note from Irwin Colter’s office mentioned they had been consulting with professor Allison Christians regarding FATCA. Suggested they comment to media on their concerns and the yet unanswered FATCA Order Paper questions.
Suggest continued encouragement and comments to:
Irwin Colter – Mt Royal, PQ Irwin.cotler@parl.gc.ca
(Liberals’ point person on the FATCA file. Liberal critic for Rights and Freedoms.
Minister of Justice and Attorney General in Paul Martin’s government. Expert on human rights and international law.)
(Hsu and Brison tabled the Written Order questions on FATCA.)

Gill Deacan interviewed someone from the CBA on Here and Now (Toronto) yesterday, but I can’t find the podcast. You can see the Twitter link here: http://www.cbc.ca/hereandnowtoronto/. I woke up yesterday to find FATCA all over the CBC yesterday. Let’s keep the pressure on because the coverage is still rudimentary.
The FATCA cat is completely out of the bag now, for Canada anyway.
Now its up to individuals BRANDED at BIRTH with US INDICIA to decide if they want to go for surgery by formally renouncing/relinquishing US citizenship or continue living underground like ILLEGAL EMIGRANTS.
I predict there will now be another significant spike in the numbers of people opting to have the CANCER of US citizenship removed once and for all.
I was almost giddy at the end of the day. FATCA was also covered almost every hour on the hour on CBC radio throughout the day. Now we see what shakes out.

ILLEGAL EMIGRANT, lol! A status unique to Americans and a tribute to our exceptionalism throughout the world, branding us pariahs and 2nd class citizens wherever we choose to roam.

I am on the road today and so will not have time or ability to do much buzzing as a Brock mosquito. Maybe a few of the said mosquitoes should buzz on over to the Globe and Mail and add relevant comments to the following http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/small-business/sb-growth/going-global/why-would-a-us-resident-want-to-renounce-canadian-citizenship/article16211886/
More publicity …..
I tried to post this on the “top” story line but somehow it got to the second … so here goes again …..
