I was watching the Daily Show this morning on the internet, and its reporting of the most recent Rolling Stones article by Matt Tiabbi about the Last Mystery of the Financial Crisis. This contained some damning internal email communication from S&P and Moodys, which frankly just confirmed , for anyone who has been paying attention, what we should already have known about their role in the financial crisis. Simply put, it is a corrupted system.
So, John Oliver did this piece called Money BOO BOO, which was amusing. All you can do is shake your head and laugh at how bad it was and probably still is.
I don’t immediately have the Canadian web site address, but I am sure there is someone here that will provide it.
Sorry for the long lead into the real video clip that I knew you Canadians would enjoy. This was the interview that pseudo journalist Jason Jones (a Canadian) did with a banker in Canada.
Jason Jones teaches regulation-loving Canadian bankers the advantages of harmless free-market fun.

Why do I get nervous when anyone in the US shines a light on Canada, even a favourable one?
@bubblebustin
You too?

What do you mean? I always find whatever Daily Show/Colbert does is hilarious and supportive of Canada. I know you said “favourable (light)” but I’m not following………….
@nobledreamer
I guess it kind of feels like when the school yard bully notices you, even if he appears to like you. Sometimes it’s better to go unnoticed by someone who has the potential to make your life miserable, and especially by someone who instead of learning from you prefers you acquiesce to him.
@Patricia
Thanks for the link to the Canadian site. I have to remember that. I knew someone would post it.
I really get a kick out of Jason Jones and Samantha Bee. (They are both Canadians and married) If you Canadians could ever get their attention on FATCA, they would be a GREAT place to lampoon and educate America.
@nobledreamer
I agree with bubblebustin. I don’t want to be noticed by the schoolyard bully, even if he is paying a compliment, because the very best that I can hope for in that exchange is to be one of his toadies in lieu of getting my ass kicked.
Honour dictates that I’d rather get my ass kicked, but when the issue is all about survival, it’s in my best interest to not be noticed. Alas, that may prove impossible if the NSA is also skimming data off this forum, too.
@bubblebustin & mjh49783
I get it. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks!
