I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. He has made extraordinary contributions to the cause of US persons abroad and he will be sorely missed.
Rest in Peace, Andy.
Maybe we could have a separate posting in the main page —
… of have a “wall of fame” posting on IBS, including these two individuals?
I think IBS could even offer their own annual prize, along with a press-release. This could offer some additional visibility?

I apologize but I didn’t know how to post it on the main page, but, yes, I think we should.
Yes, rest in peace. It is so fortunate that Roger Conklin and Andy Sundberg were around at least part of the time to help with the ongoing fight. They will be sorely missed.
There is so much that Andy Sundberg can still tell us, if we read his archives:
This one proved to have very lasting value for us this week (check out the actual FOI documents):
“More on the State Department FOI Follies”
“08/09/2012
DEAR OVERSEAS AMERICAN FRIENDS,
I thought you’d enjoy the following letter and the three attachments.
I’ve been trying for nearly a year, and without success so far, to get some very basic statistics from the State Department.
State claims that they don’t have these statistics even though every embassy and consulate has to submit them each year. I don’t believe they actually throw them away, but, then again, you never know!
Anyway, it is just another sad example of how indifferent State is, and has long been, to our concerns while we live abroad………..”

I wish I had read his blog before now.
