Wasn’t able to use the upload above, but listened to the interview from Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vcvTSj7Ytw directly!
Bravo Petros, and petetheplanner – we are in your debt!
hey, now the upload works! Thanks Deckard1138!
@petros: I just listened to your radio interview with the other Peter Dunn. You were very well-spoken and made out a good case on behalf of American ex-pats and the injustice of citizen-based taxation. The U Tube post is good press too.
Good job!
@Badger and All
Yes, there was a brief hiccup getting started, but now we have our own YouTube channel in addition to the main IBS site, FaceBook site, Twitter feed, RSS feed and email alerts.
Here is the landing page for the new Isaac Brock Society YouTube channel:
Well done Petros. I have to say Pete the Planner is a sweetheart and also did a superb job presenting our case.
Does anyone know what the true number of views is on this Youtube? I watched it twice and the views stayed at 15 (cleared my cache in between). That always seems to be the case with me and Youtubes — maybe you have to have an account with them or something to get counted.
@Em
There may be a slight delay with the updates. I’m now counting 41 views of the main page, with 19 for the Two Peters clip:
@ Deckard1138
Guess the internet has a slow delivery to my little piece of Canadian heaven. (Please note IRS that I said heaven NOT haven.) It still says 15 views here.
@petros,
Thanks so much for participating in the interview and for posting it. It comes through loud and clear now. One question Where is the radio station located that broadcast this interview? Thank you.
Here’s a transcript of the interview. But you *must* listen to the broadcast because both these guys are great on air!
@Roger via airwaves: Indianapolis; via the internet, the world.
Liked the lead in music!
I am very pleased with the tone and direction of the interview. Pete the Planner was a stand up guy to admit on air that he got the story wrong on his blog in the beginning.
I like how he asked the open ended question, “What can we (meaning Americans in the US) do to help?” It had a we are on your side feel to it.
The message of Americans abroad being harassed came across clearly.
I like the message that went out from Pete-the-Planner that he doesn’t want to distance myself from you or the issues you raised. He sounded really astounded by what he had learned.
Good plug for the web site, and liked that he spelled it out.
You got in you subtle bash at Obama which would be well received by that audience. π
Good ending on trade issues and exports job creation for America. Great that you mentioned Roger Conklin. That is a story some real journalist should investigate. (Are there any real Journalist reading here?)
I detected a little stress in your voice Petros, but you held up well. I would have been nervous as hell, and would not have done so well. I talk better with my fingers when answering questions, except for my typos and grammar!
All in all, a very positive message for making the case of the absurdity of Citizenship taxation.
Well done!
@Petros, Great Job Peter Dunn!! Bravo!!
Well done Peter. The word is getting out.
Very well done, Peter! I have up to recently been doom and gloom but am becoming more and more hopeful that as word gets out, US taxation could be reformed or at least mitigated for expats and immigrant minnows.
Many thanks to their Peter (U.S) and and a big Canadian Polar Bear hug to ours! Mighty grateful to you, Petros!
Thanks Will, Steven, Mona, Just Me, saddened, and everyone.
Will–no thanks on the Polar bear hug. I’m scared of polar bears.
I wonder if Pete the Planner would consider doing a follow up interview with Roger Conklin about the negative effects of citizenship-based taxation on jobs in America due to decreased exports.
@Petros, Next is CNN I hope!!
CNN is too liberal … they probably think taxing foreigners is a brilliant idea. Fox might be better.
Thanks Pete the Planner for taking interest in the subject. Good job Petros. It’s great to get the word out.
I wonder what the follow up comments were like from mainlander Americans? Did anyone hear anything?
@all, Maybe we should contact Mitt Rhomney’s campaign headquarters, maybe if he thinks he could get our votes he would try to help.. Just a thought, maybe a stupid one but just a idea!!
OMG and Peter,
Canada (and the world in general) has been represented well by you, Peter. Now to have someone from within the US who has lived in Brazil and other world places with so much expertise and who has advocated so tirelessly on this issue. As well, someone from New Zealand, the someone who has been in OVDI hell and back and can discuss for 10 minutes that aspect. Both Roger and Just Me could do excellent follow-up interviews (and they both have real names) if Peter the Planner would be so kind to further help us on his broadcast. He asked how they (the US people) could help in our plight. This is one way.
