UPDATE:Β Click here for the audio of this interview.
Hi everyone, I’ve done the 10 minute spot with Pete the Planner, and I think it went pretty well; I was able to touch on many of the important issues that affect all of us.
What: The Pete the Planner Show on 93 WIBC
When: Friday nights from 7-9pm and then podcast online anytime
Once the podcast is available, we will make a link.
Peter — thanks for representing us for Pete the Planner and all who listen. There will be many tuning in this evening.
thank Calgary! Oh, and I avoided calling President Obama “Hitler.” So you can all be proud of me that I did not do an over the top rant.
Reblogged this on Stop Unconstitutional Double Taxation.
Please do publish the link ASAP, we can’t wait to hear what two rocks sound like when they bounce stuff off each other.
Kudos and thanks, Peter! I will be sure to listen to the broadcast tonight.
Please do let me know when the podcast is available and the link. I don’t have the time to listen to 2 hours today as too much to do at that time of the day in NZ. And if the program is interrupted with 10 commercials every 10 minutes it would drive me demented! That is worse than filing a FATCA form…. LOL π
@Peter, Thank you so much!! We appreciate all you do for us!!
@ Just Me Cranky this morning, eh? Don’t worry. My understanding is that it will be the first ten minutes of the program. I wondering if how he segues from there.
@Petros – just finished listening. YOU DID US PROUD! Congratulations, very clear, very measured, very factual. If this doesn’t get through to folks who actually use their brain, then nothing well.
WELL DONE!
@Petros
Fantastic interview. Just listened to the podcast. Good job, Petros and thank you for all you do. Between Atossa’s article going viral and now this interview, we will hopefully be heard by mainlanders.
YES, GREAT INTERVIEW WELL DONE!!!!!
I wonder what the feedback is going to be like from the mainlanders! π
Just finished listening to the program. Great job, Peter Dunn, The ORIGINAL! Thank you very kindly for doing all you do and do so well. Peter Dunn, The OTHER, did a wonderfully fair and intelligent interview. Thanks to him too!
Peter Dunn of Isaac Brock — you used the 10 minutes you were allotted for the interview very effectively, showing the detriment to all US citizens of citizenship-based taxation. I hope many listeners of the Other Peter Dunn will now have a good understanding of US taxation and financial reporting responsibilities expats incur.
Thanks on behalf of all of your friends here at Isaac Brock.
… and thanks to the Other Peter Dunn, Pete the Planner, for the opportunity given to you and us — he did a great interview and admitted he was wrong in jumping to “tax evasion” conclusions. I’m glad he tuned in here and got some further financial education for himself and listeners to his program.
YES, I agree, well said calgary411
Well done Peter Dunns.
The Original Peter Dunn – You got the main issues into a short interview. You mentioned the invasiveness of the FBAR, the harsh penalties associated with the FBAR and OVDI as well as the bad policy of citizenship based taxation.
The Other Peter Dunn – You captured the main problem and described it well for your listeners when you said, “That American citizens overseas, to some degree, are being harassed by US tax policies.”
From personal experience, I would say leave out the “to some degree”.
Thanks again to both of you.
I hope the IRS, for some absurd reason, doesn’t decide to audit The Other Peter Dunn this year. π―
@ the Peter Dunns, Super! Thanks to you both!
Petros, you got some convoluted stuff across very clearly.
And Pete, it’s impressive that as soon as you learned of this issue, you quickly realised how serious the matter is.
To both Peter Dunns, the two main messages I picked up on the broadcast were (1) debunking the myth that this is about avoiding taxes; and (2) that these laws and policies are hurting and will continue to hurt, not only US born persons abroad, but the US economy and therefore Americans in the US as well.
It was great to listen to this and realise the message was going out on mainstream media being listened to by people in the United States.
@Pete the planner, I was remiss in not thanking you too, I do agree with the others, you also did a great job of ensuring your listeners were hearing the issues, and allowing the original Peter to state his case. so, thank you.
Sorry I had to miss it…does anyone have a link to it somewhere? Or a script?
It looks to me that the podcasts are one month behind. But there is a repeat of the show on Sunday 10-11am.
@Petros, egads 7am pacific Sunday morning! I guess I’ll have to wait for the podcast π Do you think you can transcribe it? (just kidding)
I had a few minutes to check, and I see from the comments that the interview went well. I checked the podcast page, and see that Pete-the-planner is about a month behind in posting current podcasts, so guess I will have be patient. You didnβt record it did you by any chance? Or do you know if it will be posted sooner?
Anyway, thanks Petros for doing this, and Pete-the Planner, if you are reading here. Appreciate your willingness to be open to the subject at hand. I look forward to hearing both Peter Dunns.
Perhaps someone who has the software to capture a live stream could record the show Sunday morning, and upload it to Youtube, we could have an advance copy of the podcast. The interview is only the first 10 minutes of his show.
@All – I’ve received kind permission directly from Pete the Planner to record and post the interview on the Isaac Brock site after tomorrow’s rebroadcast. We’ll post a new link to it as soon as it’s available.
