@Deckard1138
Thanks for obtaining the permission and offering to record and post here. I was going to get up at the god awful hour here on Monday morning to record it too, but now I can sleep normally. You are a saint! π
@Just Me et.al.
You’re most welcome. Have a good sleep tonight and enjoy listening to the interview with your morning coffee – it’s a good one! Cheers.
@ Deckard Thanks so much for offering to record the program. The only problem is that we must find a third party to host the media, since audio/video files are not permitted at WordPress without an upgrade. May I suggest that it be uploaded to youtube? But it can actually be hosted at any site (as an MP3), and linked to here.
@Petros
Already in the works – I’m setting up a companion YouTube channel now since I’m certain that this will be just the beginning…
The virtual force that is developing at Brock staggers me. The dozens of bright, perceptive, energetic contributors create a sum that is far more than any of the parts. A remarkable growing group of people who can dig through complex issues, and the ways to approach them, without getting bogged down in personalities, trivialities, or side spats. Brock seems destined to become a textbook case of social self-organization on an international scale. Where else could you find such a (1) scale of persons affected (2) magnitude of issue (3) likely lack of reasonable resolution in the short term (4) lives at stake. If I were commander of the dark unfreedoms, I would be mustering a legion of trolls. Keep eyes peeled.
A precedent already exists:
The 56 signers of the American Declaration of Independence
The issue is the same: an imperial power runs out of money so it puts a squeeze on its citizens living abroad.
The only difference this time is that everyone is scattered across the globe instead of living in the same geographical location.
Thank you @deckard1138 and petros. looking forward to hearing the interview! Thank you Peterplanner and ‘other’ Peter Dunn. π
@Petros
A belated thanks for a job very well done. Great use of the ten minutes, you managed to raise consciousness about:
1. The reality of U.S. citizens and tax obligations outside the U.S.;
2. The frightening realities of FBAR;
3. How citizenship-based taxation works against U.S. interests.
Pete the planner was the perfect interviewer to get these points out. A lot was accomplished in that ten minutes. Great work!
