Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday.

Oh, Oh Petros. Watch out if you cross the border!
I see something possibly sinister in these warnings, possibly a prelude to the confiscation of gold. If you can first paint those who own gold as anti-government terrorists, then you can justify confiscating their gold. It won’t be the first time in the United States that gold was confiscated; Roosevelt has already done it.
This is very bad form on the part of the FBI. Essentially they are trying to squelch dissent by painting certain people critical of government as white collar thieves and radicals.
I’ve criticized US taxation, US regulations (FATCA, FBAR) and I have been in favor of gold, if not the gold standard, on my righteousinvestor.com blog. So I guess that means there is an FBI alert against me, and the US is training local police forces how deal with people like me. It is surreal sort of prelude to tyranny and dictatorship. First the economic collapse. Next blame someone–the Jews, the gold bugs; next confiscate their property and intern them; next, mass murder. It has happened time and time again in history. Steven warned me too. And he knows the IRS better than any of us.
At least in Canada the government is in the business of selling gold coins at the Royal Canadian Mint. Do take a look at the article I posted. On the one hand it is not relevant on the otherhand I suspect many of the Canadian lawyers involved would view the success of IBS as not “helpful” to their work. They are the types that talk about in a sophisticated global economy blah blah blah we can’t have countries refusing to recogonize the laws of the countries even on public policy grounds blah blah blah. This is the same type of thing going on with SOPA and ACTA.
@Tim There is a nice premium on Canadian gold coins in contrast to pure gold bars. It’s a good business to be in.
