Once again… just another extension of legislation that started back in the 1960s. Thank God I don’t want a US passport anymore.
Having said that, there’re are already REALLY tight systems in place to get tax money in many countries. (I don’t know of any that link to the passport though). I only have a problem with the US system because it applies to people who get no services from there. And when and IF we need help, we usually have to pay for it at the consulates.
