Hey folks, I want to let you know that the isaacbrockforum.com is now open. This forum is password protected to keep web crawlers out. Search engines will not be able to access discussions in the forum. Nor will anyone be able to walk off the street straight into the discussion. They first have to ring the door bell–i.e., they must go to the how to join page to find out the password.
So it will be a place where members can let their hair hang loose a little. Also, members who want to contact each other can say, “Let’s meet at the forum” and there you can private message one another.
I want to caution everyone that the discussion forum is only quasi-private. Indeed, nothing on the internet is absolutely secure–e.g., from a government subpoena– and we are now learning, from forum moderators and owners. If you want to have an absolutely secure conversations, I suggest taking a tip from the Sopranos, and go to the middle of a lake somewhere or to your basement, make sure that neither you nor the other person is bugged, turn on a noise-maker and speak softly to one another. Private messages on the forum are for exchanging e-mails, phone numbers, and other items that should not be available to the public, and of course, for telling Expat Forum Moderator jokes. You may also plan a coup to steal the traffic and members of this blog away from us to take them to another forum.
I think it probably WOULD benefit the people who lost out from expartforum to know about it.
@geeeez. I agree. So everyone who still has an ID that works over there (I’m totally banned for life–like from the USA too), please go over there and send private messages to everyone you know. 🙂
Hmmm…
I went to it and registered with the same username and password I use here. Then I tried entering the renunciation forum using that same password and got an invalid password error. Afraid to try more than twice. Can you help?
@Johnpg Did you enter the general forum password that is displayed on the how to join page.
Also, you have to activate your membership by hitting the link in an e-mail that the forum sends to you.
Of course not – Duh! Works fine now that I’ve read the directions. Thanks.
Very nice. Thank you, Peter.
I really prefer the forum style so thank you for opening the water cooler!
Petros, your profile is still there and it makes me laugh, to see on every post of yours that is still up, “banned.” Ho Ho Ho. For those of us who have deleted our accounts, the posts that remain show us as “guests.” No profiles are there.
Thank you, Peter! I really prefer the forum-format as well.
Yes, great move. Well done!! 😀
In the forum, everything is organized / summarised horizontally. That way, you’ll never miss a message, reply, post, etc..
@nobledreamer: I suppose your referring to the Expat Forum. Yes, I seem to have a permanent stain on my record there. But if you look at my profile, I think they banned me because I am of mixed White and Korean heritage.
Thanks Peter!
Another Wonderful Job by Peter the Great!!
Well thanks everyone. But I’m not the one who made the forum happen. The most I can take credit for is letting it happen. The guy who did this, the admin, is reticent to take credit. So I will say no more.
