Several of us are getting together to celebrate Travis’ new CLN with dinner at The Keg, 75 York Street, Ottawa, on Tuesday, June 20th, 6 pm. Good food and drink and, important for us, it’s a good place for conversation, quiet and comfortable. We’re currently expecting nine people. All Brockers are welcome, whether local or visiting Ottawa from out-of-town. On that latter note, we’re pleased that John Richardson of Toronto will be attending.
Hope you can join us! Please RSVP by leaving a comment or emailing pacifica.isaacbrocksociety@gmail.com
Thanks to all who came to dinner last night. A casual gathering (no agenda), we discussed lots of things, ranging from the usual social chit-chat to tax/citizenship issues (particularly imbalances in tax treaties with the US, potential tax treaty amendments, and the recent Belgian Court decision), and we especially appreciated John Richardson’s insight and observations on these. Thanks, Travis, for sharing your CLN celebration with us and co-organising it!
Thanks to everyone that came. It was great to have John Richardson come all the way from Toronto to join us. We had a great time and I am looking forward to the next time that I am able to join my Brock friends for an always enjoyable conversation.
Congrats Travis on your CLN!
All the best to John, pacifica, and all the Brockers.
All these issues still on my mind though I have my CLN, though I still bear the imprint of scars from having grappled with the complex and punitive system of US extraterritorial taxation and control of those deemed ‘UScitizentaxablepersonserfsabroad’.
