Media and Blog Articles
EmBee suggested that it would be good if there was a thread for new articles, so that people would be aware of where to comment. So, I created this permanent page. You could mention such articles in the comment stream for this page, or if I see one on another thread, I can copy the link to here. I’ll keep adding to the list, but not deleting, so we’ll end up having sort of a “bibliography” of FATCA/CBT articles. [Note: Some articles are not open for comments]
For more articles on FATCA, enter FATCA into Google then click on the link “more news for fatca” just below the most recent featured article.
Note also: JC suggests to see #FATCA on Twitter for latest breaking news. JC finds that is quite a good source and there even are some international articles that one may read using Google Translate.” Others may help certain tweets and articles remain in elevated position by retweeting them.
Be sure to read the comment stream for this thread — there are usually very recent articles mentioned there that aren’t on this list yet.

It took me a while to realize that if they don’t consider the Fourth Amendment privacy rights as extending to anybody abroad, then it follows that they cannot consider the Sixteenth Amendment authorizing a federal income tax as extending to persons abroad.

“How long before they fight back”
With what? Against the 2 trillion ton gorilla?
@ Tom Alciere
Ha, ha! That would be too fair and as we all know, Uncle Scam has a twisted view about fairness.
Comments are closed on the CANADIAN FATCA IGA LITIGATION thread. Is this good news or bad news? Where will we find updates on the progress being made? Just curious …
Stephen’s last update sounds good at least …
[THANKS to the good people of Stanstead Quebec who are responding to my ads.]
Thank you Tom, Badger and Deckard.
The IIAC was behind Canada’s “more sensible and pragmatic approach for implementing FATCA in Canada”, and the speed by which the Canadian government adopted the IGA:
Early letter from the President of the IIAC here (it seemed so simple and painless then) –

“Uncle Sam has twisted view about fairness”
Who knows? This might be why we have ISIS and Bin Laden and all the rest. They consider America supremely hypocritical, murderous, and their hatred runs deep.
@ EmBee and Bubblebustin,
Re the ADCS thread, that seems strange, so I just sent Stephen an e-mail to make sure he knows that commenting is closed (in case it “closed itself” due to some glitch).
I figured it was a statement to the “thread rats”. LOL LOL
I’ve read this a few times but still can’t get a clear picture.
Does this new regulation Treasury wants to bulldoze over Congress mean that USC’s abroad won’t have their corporations in the US reported to the government’s where they live?
https://tax-expatriation.com/2016/05/15/new-proposed-treasury-regulations-will-not-affect-uscs-but-will-affect-some-lprs/
EmBee and Bubblebustin,
I have no idea why the comments on my ADCS witness post are closed. I don’t even know HOW to close off comments. I have been in the U.S. the past few days and perhaps there was some U.S.-induced glitch. Anyway, I just received the email from Pacifica and asked her to please open up the post for comments.
It may seem to all of you that nothing is happening on the lawsuit. However, our lawyers are actively working on the paperwork and there are more ongoing discussions with potential witnesses. Still hoping for more Canadian witnesses….
Yes, the Stanstead people are special.
The ADCS thread is open for comments again. No clue how commenting got turned off — computer gremlins — but I turned it back on. Thanks, EmBee, for posting here to let us know so we could fix it.
Stupid me was worried about hackers stealing info… people whom the IRS made into unpaid employees will just do the dirty work instead… we are sure safe from it all… my question is… who do we turn to when our id are stolen… pretty sure it will be a tag game… no… u are it… no… u are… blah, blah…

Thanks, Pacifica, and Stephen for the cryptic positive update 🙂
@ Bubblebustin,
You’re welcome. Not intentionally cryptic. More specifically, a checkbox, which allows commenting on a thread, got unchecked.
