[We now have a NEW POST taking us up to February 1, 2015. This post will be retired from service.]
THE AUTUMN 2014 UPDATE
Dear Donors,
Together, we reached our goal of $100,000 to pay the November 1 legal bill 11 days ahead of schedule!
Thank you Canadian donors from coast to coast and our friends from around the world for your generosity, support and determination — and especially for not being afraid.
The name of our non-profit corporation is the “Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty.”
We were very deliberate in including in our name the word “sovereignty”, which forms a cornerstone of our Claims against the Government of Canada.
Canada and dozens of other countries throughout the world gave into a bully because their “leaders” were afraid of harm caused by a trading “partner” — and they gave their sovereignties away.
Help us convince by example the Leaders and Governments of all countries worldwide that they should return their sovereignties back to their Peoples.
Please continue to support our lawsuit.

Chers donateurs,
» (Helen Keller)

A bit off topic, but I am curious to know how Jim Bopp’s legal challenge of FATCA violating the 4th and 8th amendments of the US constitution will proceed now that a US court has recently ruled that Americans living outside the US have no constitutional rights.
https://isaacbrocksociety.ca/2014/06/23/united-states-citizens-abroad-have-no-constitutional-protections/
Does anybody have any ideas? The situation is now looking more grim than ever for expats.
How appropriate that on July 1, 2014 … the day that will live in infamy as the day on which the USA surrendered its morality and imposed Financial Slavery on the world in the form of FATCA … that the US Soccer team should be eliminated by the little Kingdom of Belgium from the World Cup Competition being hosted in Brazil.
Belgium, a country of only some 11 million people, is a tiny speck on the face of the earth yet hosts the NATO Headquarters, the EU Headquarters and the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (AKA SWIFT) …. and that little country has eliminated the USA … a country with a population about 30 times larger.
An interesting excerpt wikipedia :
The SWIFT secure messaging network is run from two redundant data centers, one in the United States and one in the Netherlands. These centers share information in near real-time. In case of a failure in one of the data centers, the other is able to handle the traffic of the complete network.
SWIFT opened a third data center in Switzerland, which started operating in 2009.[9] Since then, data from European SWIFT members are no longer mirrored to the U.S. data center. The distributed architecture partitions messaging into two messaging zones: European and Trans-Atlantic.[10] European zone messages are stored in the Netherlands and in a part of the Switzerland operating center; Trans-Atlantic zone messages are stored in the United States and in a part of the Switzerland operating center that is segregated from the European zone messages. Countries outside of Europe were by default allocated to the Trans-Atlantic zone but could choose to have their messages stored in the European zone.
I see, today, ALL Credit unions in Ontario are asking two questions on their applications for new accounts… “are you a US citizen” and “are you required to file a US tax return” YOU ARE ALL SCREWED AS OF TODAY! My donation to the ADCS just got much larger!
I have contacted a local Native law firm and will likely have a “consult” session with them regarding my discrimination and violation of the Charter.
Glad you’re doing this NativeCanadian. Look forward to what the view will be!
@NativeCanadian,
Having a consult with your local law firm is a great idea.
When you speak to your firm you might ask for a first pass thought on the different laws FATCA will violate (Charter and other) and also a suggestion on who should be the “plaintiff(s)”.
We are having ongoing discussions as to the types of plaintiffs that would be most appropriate and, critically, who would be willing to be a plaintiff.
If there is some interest with your firm in helping out you might let me know by email and our ADCS-ADSC legal advisor John Richardson could give your legal people a call. It would make sense to me if the litigation could be co-ordinated.
Thanks
NativeCanadian: Do you have a website for that information about the Ontario Credit Unions? I could really use the link for a project that Charl and I are working on which we’ll be sharing with Brock soon. Thanks!
Thank you Stephen. The ADCS challenge will be mentioned as a challenge the Aboriginal movement might be able to partner with and divert government funding to fight for on behalf of Canadian Aboriginals. For my vehicle rear window graphic, I chose “July2 2014 Discrimination now law in Canada”
A clip of the CBC running the warning banner re FATCA now in force inside Canada, (re Canadian bank accounts and USP status in Canada – birthplace to be requested) then it could really help the ADCS to raise money, as that will be very offensive to viewers I think.
Is it possible to get a screen capture or a video clip of same?
I refer to LM’s post here:
https://isaacbrocksociety.ca/2014/07/01/globe-mail-group-plans-constitutional-challenge/comment-page-2/#comment-2141909
The “Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty” was named in an article today (July 2) in Canada’s Financial Post. This article primarily focused on the problems Canadian banks face in FATCA compliance.
We all would disagree with the statement in the article that “Non-compliance [by the banks] is not a realistic option as the Canadian legislation provides for significant penalties in such cases”.
ADCS was cited as a “FATCA opponent”:
http://business.financialpost.com/2014/07/02/canadian-institutions-scramble-in-race-to-comply-with-fatca/
Great to see the challenge mentioned in the Financial Post, as well as the Globe, etc.
Maybe the red warning banner that LM reported appeared across the CBC TV screen today re FATCA in place now in Canada, may spur people to give MORE to see it fail.
Even better than the CBC ticker tape: We hit Global National last night. I was surprised to open up Brock this morning and not see this as a headline.
Update: Here is a direct link to the video clip:
http://globalnews.ca/video/1429153/opposition-to-controversial-new-bank-rule.
I’ll bet there were a lot of OMG moments around Canadian dinner tables last night!
Let me get this straight. The Canadian government can railroad an agreement that will negatively affect over 1 million Canadians plus their families, and the whole population of Canada in the costs to implement it completely against our country’s professors, experts and the people themselves. Then, once they make it law, the people’s only way to fight it is to give hundreds of thousands of dollars FROM THEIR OWN POCKETS? This government needs to be OVERTHROWN asap! This is a pure dictatorship with the cards stacked against anyone who disagrees with the current dictator? Do I have this right?
This country is run by a dictator/group of dictators who vote for the dictator’s decision no matter what. To make things fair, Canada needs to set up a “panel” for hearings on cases where there is an obvious violation of human rights and privacy rights etc(full Charter rights) of any Canadian period. Once the panel has found reasonable grounds for a supreme court challenge, the Canadian/Canadians will have the same funds available for the court battle against the dictator. Anything less, will keep Canadians suppressed and in fear. PERIOD!
@NativeCanadian. Love to read your posts. A British style Parliamentary Democracy is a form of Dictatorship.
People elect MPs. The MPs then promptly forget the purpose for which they were elected … aka representing the best interests of their constituency and country.
The Governor General invites the person who commands the support of a majority of MPs to form a Government.
That selected gang leader person then appoints themselves as Prime Minister and selects who will comprise his or her Cabinet. The Cabinet serves at the pleasure of the Prime Minister.
When it comes to a vote the Prime Minister decides (with or without the advice of the Cabinet who are then bound by the concept of “collective responsibility”) and sends his party Whip out to enforce party discipline in voting in accordance with the PMs wishes. Opposition MPs by definition comprise a minority of the votes in Parliament and thus can vote as they please so far as the PM is concerned on almost all matters.
The Senate is an appointed body and is unable to stop legislation though they might be able to delay it for a while. The Governor General almost always does what the Prime Minister wants. Occasionally a Governor General might throw out a Prime Minister as happened in Australia a few decades ago.
QED… The Prime Minister is a Dictator for all practical purposes.
What is expected however in this system is that all MPS and Government Ministers will act with integrity and, if necessary, resign rather that bring shame and opprobrium on the House. Sadly, we outside Britain, have not frequently followed this last part of our system of Government …. we do not seem to recognize SHAME and IMPROPER ACTIONS. Sadly, Britain, though still performing better than the rest of us, seem to be losing this fundamental requirement too.
Hence we are back to Tyrants.
@NativeCanadian.
I neglected to say that a Prime Minster, by virtue of his / her office, is able to command the resources of the Government to effectively “buy” the votes of sufficient people in elections to continue in office so long as there has been no strong groundswell of dissatisfaction with the outgoing Government.
WE need to generate that groundswell !
@NativeCanadian
You should see this anti-Harper facebook blog. There are many that feel like you. 18,724 members now.
From that blog:
Welcome to Canadians Rallying to Unseat Stephen Harper (CRUSH)!
We believe that the Harper Government has lost its moral authority to govern and that, as a result, Canadians should come together and use the democratic levers available to them to unseat the Harper Government.
We are a multipartisan group of individuals who agree on one thing only: the need to unseat the Harper Government.

Off-topic: does anybody know if I am allowed to renounce if I am still just a Canadian permanent resident, having applied for citizenship?
@vin-de-table,
I would ask your question here:
https://isaacbrocksociety.ca/renunciation/
It has been discussed on this thread, but specific posts are hard to find now.
There has been discussion of that on the Renunciation/relinquishment threads
https://isaacbrocksociety.ca/2011/12/12/relinquish-dont-renounce-if-you-can/
and here is another resource.

Independence Day seemed the perfect day to send in a donation. Hopefully other background lurkers will be similarly motivated. If, as for many of us, protecting your identity is a big concern the stopfatca.ca website even explains how to donate anomalously.
Want to send a money order to adcs but the post office has a problem with the length of the name alliance for the defence of canadian sovereignty. they can only fit “alliance for the defence o”
If I tell them to simply make it out to to ADCS then will that do?
thanks
Hdxlch,
Yes it will be ok. But the short name should be used ONLY if absolutely necessary as it is not the legal name.
Everyone:
See July 4 2014 UPDATE
We need $75,000 more to begin litigation — and it’s now time to find additional plaintiffs.
Donate and spread the word please.
Thanks
@stephen Kish- looks like it will be necessary because they could’t fit the full name on the money order. getting on the bike and heading off get that done right now.
@hdxlch,
Thanks for the donation!
Everyone — please read the update. More money and plaintiffs and we can begin.
