Liberty and justice for all United States persons abroad

*Tax Reform* — ‘Republicans Overseas’ and ‘Democrats Abroad’ now agree — “…Residency Based Taxation, as a replacement for the current U.S. system of Citizenship Based Taxation”

From George (Original George)

Could someone create a post on BOTH of these positions because it would be sure handy that we now have ammunition to write Reps and Senators REGARDLESS of Party!!!

This is very very important because BOTH parties Overseas have now converged on a common position.

WE will be attacked by do gooders in the homeland but now we have a shield from DA that must be used.

@Biscuit had a great llink to what Republicans Overseas is urging…

It seems that the RNC has passed a resolution calling for FATCA repeal and change to territorial taxation for individuals. Text is here:

Democrats Abroad is now speaking from the same song sheet;

  1. @bob Cagan

In all fairness, your comment above makes no sense whatsoever … at least not to me.

Nothing justifies extra_territorial “law” making enforced by mafia_like method.

The US is inherently better than to behave like she has been doing with CBT and all that flows from that form of slavery. She needs to clean out the so called “law makers” who stoop to the present levels. Flush the toilet instead of trying to perfume its contents.

  2. Bob- CBT is the true issue here, the true culprit. Anything that doesn’t get rid of it should is not good enought. TBT would allow someone whose life is abroad to be free of US taxation. My concern is that TBT should be universal. Meaning if you reside in country X and country X therefore taxes your income wherever it comes from (why not, after all), and some of your income comes from the US, then your US income would be, under TBT, taxed in the US and by your country of residence (regardless of your citizenship). So TBT would be fine for me, but not for people residing elsewhere and getting US income, unless their country of residence lets the US alone tax that US income.

  3. Nervousinvestor: You get the award for quote of the day! “Flush the toilet instead of trying to perfume its contents.” I LOVE it! Way more “aromatic” than the old “bandaid”analogy I’ve been using for years. WAY better!

  4. TWO quotes from major RBT activists regarding chances of getting RBT
Fortune follows the brave and hard-working!
    Better than any other time

  5. @MuzzledNoMore Thank you for the vote of appreciation. I so wish that it were not necessary to deal with and try to heal this abusive system.

Praying for the people of the Caribbean as Hurricane Irma, with perhaps her boyfriend behind her, start tearing down nature, homes, businesses and lives of all sorts.

  6. Though I renounced in 2012, I have submitted my family’s story (and what will affect many other families as mine), most of it under *Other* (as it referred to the past) because most questions focused on what pertained to the specific year, 2016. With our submissions, perhaps someone at Dems Abroad will actually realize the absurd injustice meted out by *the land of the free*.

Thanks, Jak Dac and Barbara for providing this link at Brock.
