  1. I’m not sure if this is the right post to ask this question, but I couldn’t find a better place to ask:

I am looking for a a tax adviser for my kids, who are students in Montreal, and unfortunately, born in the USA. At this moment they have very little income, but they are about to get some money from their grandmother, that they don’t know about yet. I want them to have a consultation with a tax adviser (which of course we would pay for) who can tell them what they should and should not invest in, (PFICs, etc), and how to make an investment plan taking into consideration Canadian Tax Law, US Tax Law and Quebec Tax Law (Quebec, being the third “country” in this equation, as it has different tax law from the rest of Canada.) Montreal has an abundance of cross border accountants, and I have spoken to a couple of them, but have unfortunately have been very put off by all of them. Does anyone know someone whom they’d recommend who would provide a consultation to a couple of students. I was even thinking that if we could find a decent person, he/she might we willing to put on a seminar on this topic as my kids have a few friends in a similar situation.

Thanks to this wonderful group of IB’ers, and all the incredible information on this site!

    DJ
