If you have a WordPress account, you must be logged in to comment (for some reason)

Hi folks. There have been some complaints about having to be logged in to comment. This has apparently become an issue at WordPress. It is not my doing as you can see from this screen shot of the settings for this blog:
By the way, the e-mail doesn’t have to be real.  Some have commented with fake e-mail addresses. Of course, the prevents me or anyone else from being able to contact you for whatever reason.  We do, however, ask that you use a consistent alias.

Cheers,

Peter

  1. @tiger Weird. How did you do this comment (which seems to have worked)? What did you do different.

I had the same message yesterday (not logged in) when I tried to post with my name in e-mail field and my e-mail in the name field. A fake e-mail address has to be in the correct field and it must look like *@*.* (e.g., a@gmail.com).
