Hi folks. I created a shiny, new Facebook page for the blog and it should automatically pull new posts from here. The one thing I’m scratching my head over is how to get a Like button on the blog to link back to Facebook. Apparently WordPress only allows certain features to be linked on personal FB profiles rather than organization or community pages.
In any case, tell all your friends about the new page and Like us over at FB! Click on “Our Facebook Page” link at the right-hand menu.
Or simply search Isaac Brock Society through your account. “Like” us and feel free to share posts on your personal pages. Let me know if anyone has suggestions on how to make this integration better.
I put the Facebook like widget up now. That takes a WordPress administrator. Thanks zucchero for doing the Facebook page.
That’s great, except that some bloggers may not want to risk drawing attention to themselves. As I understand it, Facebook accounts can be traced and monitored.
That’s true, Mona, and I understand there would be folks out there uncomfortable using it. But there are other people out there who read the articles only and don’t participate. They could use our fb page as a news feed and their network of people will see when they “like” us and maybe feel curious to take a look as well. I realize facebook is not everyone’s cup of tea, but the broader an audience we reach the better, no?
Someone tried to find us in the facebook and was unable.
Strange… it might be because it’s a page rather than a personal profile. But if you simply type “isaac brock society” it should come up. Failing that, if you filter on the left for pages it will be easier to find.
