EmBee suggested that it would be good if there was a thread for new articles, so that people would be aware of where to comment. So, I created this permanent page. You could mention such articles in the comment stream for this page, or if I see one on another thread, I can copy the link to here. I’ll keep adding to the list, but not deleting, so we’ll end up having sort of a “bibliography” too. [Note: Some articles are not open for comments]
For more articles on FATCA, enter FATCA into Google then click on the link “more news for fatca” just below the most recent featured article.
Note also: JC suggests to see #FATCA on Twitter for latest breaking news. JC finds that is quite a good source and there even are some international articles that one may read using Google Translate.” Others may help certain tweets and articles remain in elevated position by retweeting them.

The more renunciations the better. It really drives narcissists crazy when people leave them. The United States possesses virtually all the characteristics of a nation with narcissistic personality disorder.

And there is only one way to deal with a narcissist — get him or her out of your life forever.
@northernstar
Are you referring to Jack Townsend’s blog?
@From the wilderness…YES,,,I am referring to Townsend’s blog… not IBS…. I didn’t type that clearly. Glad you asked me ….
and that theory you presented – Narcissism in the USA, I have read about before. I do agree there are many of them. That is why nationalism in sports is so popular. When I came to Canada I was taken aback at how Canadians treat their sports as compared to the Americans.

“Rich people who hire fancy accountants to do their taxes have moved to Monaco! Let’s solve that problem by making middle-class people who moved to Australia hire fancy accountants to do their taxes too!”
@Eric
Here we have more and more globalisation, and instead of letting people be free to chose where they want to live, they are trying to put up barriers to this basic human right! America is a BAD role model- not a good one ( in many many ways).
@Fromthewilderness, that was in response to my comment in which I predicted that many dual expats will feel coerced into getting compliant then ultimately expatriating in order to simplify their lives. I have concluded that he is indeed aware of the issues but willfully refusing to acknowledge the problems.

A great article about a real tragedy. Thank you ladies for having the courage to tell the world what is happening to the American Diaspora — outright persecution and condemnation to living in shackles and chains just for being born in the USA.
We will have their freedom one day. But we can never, never, never give up!
This is probably not the right place for this, but for anyone who is interested, WhiteKat will be interviewed on CBC Radio One (91.5 in Ottawa) between 5:00 and 5:30 today on a show called ‘All in a Day”.
Hopefully this will catch a lot of Ottawa area commuters on their way home from work today.

@ FromTheWilderness:
One notch worse than “a nation with narcissistic personality disorder” is:
a nation with narcissistic personality disorder plus concommitient complications of longstanding unresolved post-traumatic stress disorder and habitual steroid and other power-drug use to avoid the feelings of vulnerability and loss of potency. LOL
We will have our freedom one day. But we can never, never, never give up!
Now I am really getting a sense of anger over there in England….. MORE MORE.
@ White Kat,
Sure, this is a good place to post that you will be interviewed on CBC’s All in a Day. Thanks for doing the interview. I just read your post, so I missed the live broadcast at 5:00. Drat. I don’t see the audio available yet. I hope they’ll put that up soon.
I noticed that CBC All in a Day page has a link to the Alliance for the Defence of Canadian Sovereignty. Great! Also the show’s page is open to comments.
Many thanks for this, WhiteKat – – Wish I could have heard it (is there a link?) and I hope we get a lot of interest!!!!
Yes, WhiteKat posted the link, but it’s a few comments up the stream now.

@Pacifica
I`ve been all over that site now and I can’t get to that interview. I`m listening to something about Bluegrass and what not- but the part on Canadian Sovereignty just seems to be nowhere on there, except announced in writing.
Good article except they think all those renouncing are rich. We need to educate him on the exit tax.

@Watcher: Thanks for posting the Telegraph article “British public footing a £1bn bill – to aid the US taxman”. According to this article, banks in Switzerland have incurred costs of about CHF 300 million (US$335 million) to implement FATCA (German):
http://www.nzz.ch/wirtschaft/kraeftezehrende-zaehmung-des-monsters-fatca-1.18331454
@all: It might be worthwhile to post FATCA implementation costs from other countries as they are reported to show how one-sided this law is: “foreigners pay high costs, US collects a small amount of revenue”.
Neil’s link to the Examiner article doesn’t work. Try :

@Innocente
…and how much is that revenue from grannies like me who happened to sell their homes where they live? Or a contribution from the treasuries of other nations when they help their less fortunate citizens?
