Toronto Star, 31 July 2013:
“The United States wants its police officers to be exempt from Canadian law if they agree to take part in a highly touted cross-border policing initiative, an internal RCMP memo says. … The debate over whose laws would apply to U.S. officers working in Canada raises important questions of sovereignty and police accountability, says the briefing note prepared for RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson.”
Does this have implications for anyone who winds up in trouble/penalties over tax issues? Is Canada a sovereign country or is Canada the 51st State? Some people call that country on our southern border the United States of Arrogance (I picked up that appropriate term from Blaze) What could be more arrogant than wanting to be exempt from a country’s law, and use your own country’s law, when you are in their country?
In 1812, the US attempted to invade us in a concrete physical way. Didn’t work. Two hundred years later, they are attempting to invade us in an invisible way, little-by-little, and impose their law on us and they have the arrogance to think that Americans should be exempt from our law when they’re in our country. We are not the 51st State, we are not a US colony, and we are not a US police protectorate.
Thanks to Lora and Schubert for discovering this news, which can be read at:
And for further details and discussion on this programme also see Noble Dreamer’s post on this topic from last summer.
The particular development in today’s news is that they’re trying to get exempted from Canadian law whilst in Canada. This programme sounded problematic to begin with, and this implementation-of-US-law-in-Canada proposal sounds more similar to an occupying force than a partnership.

This website (lifted from the comments of the Star article) is right up your alley. Someone has done a lot of probing into CGI and its cross-border connections. It’s too much for my brain but I’ve put it on file anyway.

Adding to EM says comment dated November 6, 2013…

Thanks for popping in at Brock. That’s an amazing body of work. I’ll look into those links. I wish the main stream media would do real investigative reporting but I know they are controlled.
Thanks Em. I believe the information regarding CGI is very important to your cause & to ALL Canadians & Americans, etc…considering the evidence proves mega I.T. corporation CGI are aggressively pursuing a GLOBAL takeover with the goal of becoming EVERYONE’S new “BIG BROTHER”…

@Em, and @Kelly Richard, thank you for those valuable links and information. It is pretty overwhelming. We started with opposing one kind of US overreach, and find it all linked together.
Germany reserves the right to apply its law to criminal acts committed against German citizens abroad, under German Criminal Code, Section 7. Several days ago a man in Missoula, Montana shot to death a German foreign exchange student, Diren D., who was on his property. Montana authorities have issued a complaint against the man who is raising a defense called “Castle Doctrine” under Montana law. If the man is successful in his defense, German prosecutors are reviewing whether to charge him under German criminal law.
A NY Daily News article on the incident:

Applicable German criminal law:
“Section 7 Applicability to Acts Abroad in Other Cases
(1) German criminal law shall apply to acts, which were committed abroad against a German, if the act is punishable at the place of its commission or the place of its commission is subject to no criminal law enforcement.”

Article in Hamburger Abendblatt mentioning that a German prosecutor is investigating the incident (German):

Although I am not normally in favor of extra-territorial laws, I might take a different view in this case. Also, whether the US would extradite the man might be open to question. If it goes so far that the charges are dropped in the US and he is then charged in Germany and the US will not extradite him, an Interpol warrant could likely be issued, meaning that it would be risky for the man to leave the US.
